From what I have read about follicle testing, companies that use this method will only test for 90 days prior. Hair supposedly only grows 1/4 of an inch per 30 days; therefore, they will cut about an inch and a half from your scalp and will only have a 3 month window. I have also been told that some companies advertise that they follicle test, but just use a urinalysis. Hair testing is expensive and trucking companies are cheap! Your age is going to be a major downfall for you when it comes to trucking. I do not think any private school is going to do a hair test, because they want your money. I would not sign a contract with a company that provides training in return for a period of employment with said company, because this company will now own you, and if you don't fulfill your contract you will be held responsible for the money. If I were you I would check with my local state employment agency and see if there is some kind of free job training available to you. At your age you will probably be better starting with a class B cdl and see if you like the trucking industry. I don't think OTR trucking is feasible for a younger person unless you realize that you will have absolutely NO LIFE AT ALL. You will not be able to do all of the things that someone your age should be doing. You may also check with a community college nearby that offers CDL. training, that is the route that I took and it was a lot cheaper than professional CDL. schools and I was able to write it off on my taxes. Don't listen to these people on here that say if your worried about a drug test then this is not the career for you. Be a realist and know that alcohol is far more dangerous than marijuana. If a driver wants to have a few beers on his day off, it is no different than someone that wants to smoke a little on their day off. One is legal and the other is not due to politics, not common sense. What people do on their own time is nobody else's business, including all of jesus's little brothers that like to post their holier than thou thoughts. Good luck to you and I hope this helps!

If you do your research you will find that hair follicle washes are bull they don't work Because of the by product of the drugs you were using is infused inside the follicle. wait 90 days get a buzz hair cut and you will be good to go. JBS Carriers only does UA. Just curious what kind of drug were you partaking in?
Weed, Coke, Crack, Meth? Heroin? Pills? Make sure your done partying for good that's why I say to go 90 days let your are grow out then cut it. The chances you will take a hair test is pretty slim. Don't waste your cash on washes.

I was occasionally smoking a little weed, never been into anything more than that. I understand they only go back 90 days, and I'm not confident enough that I'd pass. I refuse to try and use a wash our try to fool the test in any way. I'm very serious about becoming an otr driver and if I were to fail I'd be screwed forever. As I've stated in previous replies, I have no family, recently moved to MO from TX and I don't have many friends, I just sold my car and my cash supply is starting to run low. I'm currently staying in a hotel but come Wednesday my time will be up and I'll have nowhere to go but under a local bridge. I really need to find a company to get my CDL. It's not my first choice as I'd love to pay for schooling on my own, but that is just not an option. I have no problem having no life, as I am currently without much of one. Any help is greatly appreciated as I really am dreading being homeless. I just simply need a list of companies that offer cdl training that only perform a UA. I've searched and searched and this post has got me no where. I'm starting to lose all hope.

Your downfall is your age, brother. You can stop wasting your time because most companies insurance providers have age restrictions. Your hurdle is not the drug test, it's your age. CDL. class B may be less stringent. You need to call all major companies and ask about their minimum age requirements before anything else. If you are in dire straits the military may be your only option. You can get your CDL in there and then by the time you get out you will be old enough to sign on with a good company. The military sucks but it may be your only option. I was also homeless at 21 and lived in an efficiency until I ran out of money. My only option was to work 3 part time jobs and then moved into a friends rental unit. I traded labor for rent. It's good to see that you have ambition, but the age factor is something that you simply cannot get around. Keep on pushing until you get a break. Use public assistance if you have to. Good luck

I was medically disqualified from the military as when I tried to enlist at 18 I was overweight. Although I've lost the weight and am in good shape now, I'm still not eligible, and even if I were I'd rather not sign my life over to the government.

My age is a bit of a problem though I've seen several companies hire 21 year olds. This is what I want and I won't stop until I get it. I just need to find a company that I qualify for that only does UA's. My data on my phone is running low and I created this thread in hopes that I'd be able to get the info I need without expending much data but it seems as though it's a lost cause. I haven't made many threads on this site but I've never got what I've been looking for. I'll try going to some other trucking sites and see how that goes. I will keep tabs on this thread though. Thanks for any info provided

According to another website I've been reading, Central Refridgerated only does ua. It also says it's a fast paced program, which sounds like it may appeal to you.

    Good luck!

It also says you only need to be 21.

Yeah I came across them awhile ago, and I plan on calling Monday (I'll try tomorrow but doubt recruiters work weekends)

I'll also try CRE although from what I can see I'll deeply regret it but quite honestly I've been considering suicide lately and I'm doing my best bit to give up so I'll go to any company that will give me a shot. Thank you dude

I hope you are joking about suicide! Life is tough for everyone, but it is the only one you have. Without life there is absolutely nothing else. Hang in there brother I am 45 and still have a hard time with the trials of life. I have school loans and hospital bills that are overwhelming and I will be paying on them for many years to come. To bad you sold your car, I used to take home 400 hundred a week delivering pizzas 3 nights a week. Don't do anything stupid! You can use the computers at the library for free! Hope this helps!

Well to be quite frank if I can't get into trucking that my only real option. I know it sounds pathetic but it's true. Living on the streets would land me in jail where I'm at and there's no assistance around here. I'm doing my best to push on and not give up but it's getting hard to keep my head up. I thought I finally caught a break with knight and then was informed about the follicle test. One step forward, two steps back...
