I don't need help choosing friends, thank you. I am merely an outside observer and only see whining and complaining about people who have failed to cover their rear ends when buying trucks, or who have just gotten one of the "lemon trucks," which there will be when you buy fleet owned trucks. Things happen, deal with it and move on.

lol, a one year wonder knows it all, I got the title to my truck, you haven't purchased one, and I am a bully, rotflmao, you apparently don't have a clue
I have slid a coffee cup across a truckstop counter more miles than you have ever driven, your turn rookie. I am ion a battle of wits with a unarmed person -
You guys knock it off with the pissin' contest, please.
Dubious Bravado, Bigdubber and trucker91 Thank this. -
no problem with that at all, its just a bit difficult dealing with someone who doesn't own a truck having it all figured out.

I was looking at their Cascadia too. That is a pretty ###### good deal. DDEC15, 13 speed, and a 4yr/500k warranty, plus 2yr towing and roadside. I've wasn't too keen on Cascadia's until I stepped out of one and into a KW T680. Except for it's looks, I think the Cascadia has the T680 beat overall, especially in ergonomics, storage space, and comfort. Plus, that Detroit is a much quieter motor. The ISX in my T680 is a very loud.Bigdubber Thanks this.

I am quite positive I'd qualify for the no money down they're offering. Why would I want a 10 speed Cummapart ISX? The only way I'd buy an ISX is new with factory extended warranty including after treatment, or well used. There's no way I'd pay $80,000 for one almost out of warranty. It's laughable that someone that has never bought a truck before is telling me what truck #6 should be.
BTW, I've put off buying #6 because I had the shop yank the head, bull gear, front cover and oil pan and put back together after everything was resealed and checked out. I also had new tstats and shoes drums and wheel seals on the middle axle. I dropped $4k but that would have run at least $8k at the dealer. Repairs are just part of business.trucker91 Thanks this. -
Just wanted to give my 0.2 cents. I have bought 1 truck, and planning on buying another, with lone Mt. and have never been lied too, or ignored. they have always been helpful and ready to work with me on any problem I've had. Oakley trucking in little rock AR has over 30 trucks leased on who's drivers leased from lone MT, and the ones I have spoke with all agree about there willingness to work with you. I know u can get a lemon and just have bad luck, but that is the case any where u buy. Lone mt. is a good company.
Battle Born, Bigdubber, flood and 1 other person Thank this. -
Every company large enough to buy a lot of 100 trucks have a deal with the maker of the truck that the warranty dose not began untill the truck is put into service. Do u really think that a large carrier buys trucks and let them sit while the warranty runs. -
If they sell them on they will not have put them into service.
So there is no "put in service date".
All i did was point out that when you buy a new truck from places like LM,that the safest bet is to take the VIN number to a brand dealer and have them punch it into the computer and see what comes up.
I have known trucks to sit for over a year with the warranty running.
A new truck is for a O/O the biggest amount he will spend, better to take no risks. -
First thing, Skateboard man is leased to the same place I'am. He is a guy you can learn a thing or two from if you drop youre defensive attitude.
Second, be honest with yourself. If you cannot afford the down payment, should you really be buying a truck?
Im not trying to put you down. Being an O/O in today's industry is probably the hardest it has ever been. Costs are up, regulations are up and pay is stagnant. Iam on my third truck, this one came from Arrow. I was shopping and fell in love with this truck. But I had a 20% cash down payment plus a trade in. It has taken me a long time to get in this financial spot. Honestly, I wish I would not have jumped in to ownership right out of the Army. But I did, and I learned lessons the hard way. I tell you this not to rub in I have more experience, but to have you learn from my experience.
Save a good bit of money, take time to learn the industry in and out. Freight lanes, rates, trends, negotiation etc... You will be better for it when you finally buy.Bigdubber, Steerswithears, nofilter and 1 other person Thank this.
