Well I suppose it's time to go ahead and introduce myself. Been off of the otr scene for over 2 years. Gotta say, there's something about it I miss at times. Start orientation in Houston July 7. Will be dispatched out of Gary. Any bulk drivers dispatched from there on here? My biggest question is freight lanes. I've been told the gulf, to Chicago to NJ and back. How are the freight lanes for the bulk division lately?

From what I've been hearing from the guys I keep in touch with over at Schneider freight seems to be slow right now. Gary never was a hot spot anyway. Houston is the busiest terminal at Schneider. But things may change.
-
Yeah, I honestly would prefer not to be dispatched from Gary, but I've heard a lot of hype regarding the P&G acct. I'd rather steer clear of the northern states as I prefer running southeast but I was wondering where the majority of the P&G loads originate and also what is common coming out of that region and where it typically goes.
-
There is not a whole lot of common runs, Schneider has tons of customers and while you will run the same route eventually it doesn't happen enough to call it typical. Trimac has a terminal in Calvert City, did you talk to them?
-
Never talked to them about driving. Wanted to go the L/P route for a number of reasons. It's funny thought I currently drive a tanker picking up used oil. I pick up @ Trimac in Calvert every 4 weeks lol. That place smells crazy!
-
i can 2nd that. Freight was suppose to pick up after winter.

What have your weekly mileage avg been lately. Are you bulk?
-

My plan is to go with bulk if my current j-o-b prospect falls through. Is the 'low-miles-in-bulk' thing looking like a temporary thing? Are all the bulk drivers having this issue or is it here and there? Any additional feedback is appreciated.
BTW- kudo's to the pumpkin crew for keeping it positive, you guys seem to have a great culture going for you. Been reading a lot and I really appreciate the time you guys are taking out of your day to keep us informed. -
All the ic are telling me its rock n roll at schneider bulk right now. ..3k plus a week
*Five-0* Thanks this.
