I never agree with yelling. I can get a message across to my students without making them feel small. Students will make mistakes. We all did, and we still do. They need to be worked through the mistakes, not made to feel inadequate. All that's going to do is shake their confidence.

Some people are very thin blooded and will take simple instruction and correction as though they are being yelled at. As far as the trainer texting, if you don't turn him in then you are as guilty as him. Seriously I hope no driver is texting while driving around my family. TURN HIM IN OR SHUT UP AND DRIVE. Now that is yelling.
goblue and Trish in SC Thank this. -
In my opinion, certain circumstances, such as unsafe driving behaviors require stern correction, especially if the behavior continues after initial correction(s).
In my experience, many students I have had do not fully understand the implications of not watching mirrors, turns, off track, etc...
Im upfront with my students, its a blessing to only have about ten days of training, however, they reely need to pay attention and perform during those ten days. -
I don't train because it's hard to hook up with random women and do lines of coke to wake up in the morning after not sleeping with a student in the truck.
T_TRUCKERâ¢, jacob, nshore harleyguy and 1 other person Thank this. -
Best post yet!!!

Clearly you're not doing it right then.
goblue Thanks this. -
I have always felt like the word trainer is not the one we should be using. If anything, most of these people are evaluators and have never trained anybody to do anything!
Dinomite Thanks this.
