You know they should have never sold the "Transport City" out to "Trash America". Then we might would still have a "Awesome stop" there in Atlanta. I hope when the Flying J opens up, that it doesn't turn into the same kind of TRASHY place!

Yes, the Pilot in Tifton is a great place, one of the cleaner ones as best I remember. And the food from Steak and Shake, that's some more good eating there.

It's funny because my Grandparents... hell, half my dad's side of the family all lived on Hillcrest, just off Moreland Ave—right down the street from the old TA. I remember walking up to the corner store when I was about six... even going across the road to the Winn-Dixie on Moreland—I don't remember it being all that bad then. Well, of course, except for my redneck family that used to get drunk and have gunfights on Hillcrest... heh!

Fast forward quite a few years later, I stopped at the TA in the early 90's and was shocked at what a sh**hole the area had become.

On the same note, I was there the day the Petro on the west side opened for business. And just a few days ago, I stopped there again, for the first time in years. I was really surprised that it seems to have aged pretty well—not nearly as trashed as I thought it would be. Albeit, they don't give you a ride to the front on a golf cart anymore... I didn't figure that would last very long though.

Transport City became a paintball facility that was ahead of its time. In October, it became the Atlanta Zombie Apocalypse. It is now nothing but parking. We really enjoyed it, and are grateful for all the horrible funk that was left behind. Some of us even made it out alive. HS
