Depends on what you do on off time. Feds can't control a person spending the weekend watching sports, then be exhausted when they report for work Monday. That's what Anne Ferro doesn't understand.

Easy solution. Make shippers and receivers give us plenty of time to reach our destination. Some shippers give me plenty of time and days when I feel like driving nonstop I arrive early and get loaded/unloaded. Most loads dont give you time to even eat is when I am tired.

    Chewey Thanks this.

We do have plenty of time. The key is to be smart with your time. If you know you have to work, why stay up and watch sports or party or video games? Or pull over and go to sleep if tired. I know. Common sense in trucking isn't common anymore.

I don't like the 14 hour clock either but you can't blame the 14 hour clock on stuff like this. This is stupidity plain and simple. Just like the Walmart driver in New Jersey. Just like so many of these where the driver falls asleep. If you know your limitations then you won't have issues. And if drivers would heed to those limitations instead of being stupid, we wouldn't have to be regulated to death.
