Wanted to know as a truck driver, what are your preference when it comes to driving day time or night time ? A driver told me at first he hated it but now he love it after having some experience

Hated driving? Be more specific. You gonna be line haul? Own your own truck? Flat,box, reefer,etc. wanna be a employee or a business owner?

depends on your preference. some can manage working all day and sleeping all night. some are the other way around.
some get worn out if they have to work the warehouse before driving. flatbedders can get really worn out this time of year rolling/unrolling tarps.
in the summer time, i like night. which means sleeping in the day with a/c running. in the winter time. i prefer day. i'm a variable guy.Christopher305 Thanks this. -
I much prefer to sleep in the day time and drive at night. There is less traffic at night plus you can get loaded or unloaded a lot quicker by the night shift. Less cops, less scales open. Much easier to find a parking spot during the day at a rest area or truck stop.

Nope, just getting in the industry. But I do have a idea of starting a business with 2 or more trucks on my own

When I 1st started otr I enjoyed driving at night (thats how I got my handle) b/c less traffic & scales being closed or at least the scalemasters didnt seem to work as hard a night.
As I got older my night vision wasnt as sharp so I prefered day driiving. I think its easier to sit for hours when you can see vehicles and outside scenery as opposed to only seeing what your headlights light up at night. In this business you dont always have a choice of when to drive.Christopher305 Thanks this. -
And I prefer night driving. Its just as snowwy stated, depends on your preference.
Back in my cross country driving I was one who could get 6 to 8 hours of sleep, get up around 7 AM or so, & I was good until about 5 to 6 AM the next morning. Them i could get 3 to 4 hours of sleep & be fine till them next morning. Generally by that time i would be at my destination getting 4 to 5 hours of sleep before getting unloaded.
I've known many people that when it gets about 9 to 10 PM they start getting sleepy eyed & just cannot go on unless of course they take something, never been that way, but we are all different.Christopher305 Thanks this. -
I just read somewhere over sleeping is worse than under sleeping.

If I'm running someplace scenic, I guess I prefer the daytime. But it's much easier to lay down a lot of mile at night. Unfortunately, the choice is rarely mine to make.
