Well I don't think im
going to truck.. My mom works for payroll at USA truck and she does NOT want me to do it.. She says the thing she has to hear from drivers break her heart.. Such as "I don't have enough miles to pay for bills, we are about to loss everything including our house" she says some drivers actually have to pay everything to te trucking company because at times they don't have enough money to pay for gas, food etc so the company pays them and they owe their whole checks to them.. I have a wife and a 1 year old daughter and we are both 21.. I don't think I want to risk our house as stuff... -
Kthxbye

You can make money in trucking, but like a plumber, you have to be smarter than the pipes.
There are a million ways to get screwed in trucking. Don't go with the bottom feeders.
Take it from a brother trucker:

Do NOT got to work for those bottom-feeding company store shyster outfits.
It's really simple. -
Sounds like you are talking about leasing a truck. At the time I worked for USA they didn't lease. That can be true if leasing. Best to steer clear of taking up a lease. I made good money working for USA. Unless they changed over the years, USA is a good starter company. They may not be great. But they are not bad. You'll be hard pressed to find a Great company to start with. My saying "Good" is a high recommendation.

The fact your worried about it shows you care. Youll do fine. Start reading the cdl book and take your time and relax a bit. The first year or so will be the toughest then more doors will open.

I'm a CDL trainer and have yrs OTR as well. The best thing you can do is stay calm and dont be in a rush with any aspect. Focus on just a couple new skills each day and keep a sense of humor. Expect to make mistakes, laugh and go forward and try to correct them ....above all else stay positive!!! You CAN DO IT!!!
pattyj, GenericUserName, tangerineGT and 1 other person Thank this. -
No reason to be worried mistakes in school are good, it gives you a chance to learn what happened and how to fix those mistakes, as an instructor I prefer you making mistakes gives me a chance to help and you a chance to learn, good luck
