I have been an IC with Schneider Bulk for a short time now (2 months). I agree 2,700+ miles a week. I stay out a lot by choice. All ICs are dispatched out of Gary, regardless of where you live. Mike is our DL and if you put forth the effort and deal straight with him he will bend over backwards for you.

That's good to hear. I've done 2 previous tours OTR. The lifestyle never bothered me. It was usually a money dispute. But with that behind me, I should be gold. I'm a 2-3 month at a time kind of guy. It's good practice to hoard money and a year flies by.

Oh I'm sure we'll cross paths. I'm getting a cascadia, mainly for the warranty and fuel savings. Plus I have a freightliner mechanic back home, so it seemed like the better choice. Plus the only other options right now are KW 680s, but they're 2012 and nothing under 250k miles.

    realsupatrucka Thanks this.

Oh god no lol. I'll lease a year at a time. I have almost no overhead. I'll be able to buy the truck within 2 years.

Yeah that's way too much to commit to for a lease. That's how you trap yourself. Just renewing it yearly is a better option, it pretty much keeps it a walk away situation if things don't pan out. Anybody can tough it out a year. Having 5 years hanging over your head is basically trapping yourself. Especially if you actually plan on buying the truck, you can't buy out early, you have to complete the lease.
