Hoping to get some feedback on this. Looking at companies that hire newbies after CDL school and three that stand out to me are Roehl, Prime, and Schneider. (TMC is in there too) Thoughts on each....or one from the crew out there?? May have a buddy that's interested in getting his CDL and possibly running team. Best team company to work for?
Also...does a herniated disc from the past have any impact on getting a job if it is ok and you're in good shape? Figured I'd ask ahead rather than be surprised later. Thanks everyone....
Questions..and more questions. Roehl, Prime, or Schneider.

Herniated disc shouldn't be a problem as long as you can pass the DOT physical.
When applying for jobs; first, submit online applications the day CDL classes begin & second, ignore any "experience required" on the websites and apply anyway. Get all the endorsements, especially hazmat & TWIC plus a passport.
Here's a few, some teams and some not:
Central Oregon Truck Company
Schneider Bulk (tankers) - teams
US Express - excellent reputation for team drivers.
Con-way Truckload - teams
Maverick Transportation
JBS Carriers - solo or teams
Melton Truck Lines
Southern Refrigerated Transport - teams
Sue Vinje Trucking

Crown Royal will suffice!
Actually, I enjoy doing this; hopefully prevent some new drivers from making some mistakes I made in the beginning.Ford L8000, DocWatson, rda2580 and 2 others Thank this. -
Thanks as always. I'll definitely follow your advice. As for the Crown...only thing I have in my house is Jack...sorry...lol

diddly and squat.jimbo29 Thanks this. -
I've driven for Roehl. In fact, I just left a couple of weeks ago for a much higher paying private fleet gig. They're a decent company whether you're a rookie or experienced driver. That said, they don't do teams. Also, I used to drive for Melton Truck Lines (on China's list). They are strictly flatbed (if that matters to you), and they don't do teams either. But, they are a good company too. In fact, I would choose them over Roehl if it were me (Again, been at both). In fact, if this new gig I'm starting next week (Poly Trucking) doesn't work out, I'm headed straight for Melton and will stay there until I retire. lol

p.s. They don't pay all that great, .30 cpm IIRC, but May Trucking Company isn't too bad. That's who I started with right out of school. They are not in the same league with Roehl or Melton, but not bad. And, they DO teams.

Some of the flatbed co.'s have their own work related physical tests you have to pass, you might check into those before signing on for a flatbed co.jimbo29 Thanks this.
