hey guys, i have an appointment to come in for a local city driver dock P&D. I've heard everything good about working for this company, and would love to be able to put my foot in the door. I have zero experience, nada, got my CDL about 6 years ago. Anyway, can anyone give me any helpful tips and what to expect at this interview? Thank you!

Just like any other interview. Go in neat and polite and sell yourself. ABF has good rep and you should do well there.

Subscribed!! A cdl 6 years ago and you don't have any experience? Good luck with that gig unless they are going to put you through their school.

*update* so I went to the so called interview today. Went smoothly, and the recruiter said he will send my app over to HR to process it. Said give him a call in 2 weeks to check on the app status, or anything that HR might ask me and that I don't understand. If everything goes smoothly, he will send me to their school for 6 weeks training.

Here's my problem with my employment. When I filled out the app a month ago, I didn't think I would even have a chance, so I left out a couple of jobs that I didn't think were relevant to this industry. Plus I don't think one of them is still in business anymore. Anyway, I just want to know if will these jobs show up when they do their background check, etc??

My other problem is, I suppose to go to FFE in Texas on 7/11/14 and start school on 7/14/14. I don't want to not go to FFE just in case there's a problem with my employment with ABF. Any help would be appreciated.

Ahhh, yes, the old "what should I do" question, right ? When you apply at several places (and you should) the one you don't really care about calls you first. Now what ?

    Dinomite Thanks this.
