The whiners are the toughest part for me .
All of the poor me i hate this I hate that .
Everyone is so mean .
I am not paid what I think I am worth .
Nobody will kiss my butt and tell me I am special .
Poor me I had to wait .
My company expects me to work .
Well suck it up and put on your big girl panties .
Nobody out here wants to hear you whine and cry like a little girl .
You don't like trucking get the heck out nobody will miss your whiny butt anyway.
Like the Marines used to say nobody promised you a rose garden man up shut up and just do your danged job !!!!
I sure do miss the days when we had grown ups in trucks .

I carry them also, but that's for the end result. Miscalculate and your leaning up against the passenger side fuel tank between the end of the tank and the front of the front drive, not bad on a nice night, but boy can it be hell in January at the top of Elk Mountain.allniter Thanks this.

- Anxiety (life worries etc, dangerous job)
- Sleep issues (Truck stops and finding a place to sleep)

- Keeping the log

- DAC (####...i don't know what to do about this. Lets say you work for an idiot company and quit. So...how bad does this affect you?)
- Taking a deuce in the Truck stop (with no bathroom in site)
- Driving Conditions
- Whiners
- Monotony
- Bad Eating
Anymore to add to the above....
(I MUST start a thread for the PROS of driving on another Thread) -
One of my biggest gripes on the road are all the women practically throwing themselves at me. It's insane. You have to beat them off with a stick some days!!!

You have to pay grown ups. You don't have to pay the brain dead burnout, ADD blaming, smelly, middle aged but wishing he could breastfeed off Mum like he used to, irresponsible, lazy deadbeat losers that try to pass themselves off as truckers.
Heard a lease operator crying about how his biggest paycheck in 6 months was $300. Do you laugh? Or do you join him in lamentations of how bad the "industry" is to drivers?
Cry about driving. Cry about parking. Cry about being away from the house. Cry about truckstops, Cry about shippers. Cry about receivers, Cry about the HOS. Cry about having to close the doors on your trailer. Cry about the government meddling in the industry, YET cry about the need for more regulations. Cry about your wallet hurting your back. Cry about those old guys that laughed at your man purse. Cry about the mean ol cop that gave you a Stupid Ticket when you had a brain fart behind the wheel. Cry about not being able to smoke pot and drive. (did I miss anything?)
If I owned a mega carrier, I would push for a regs change that would allow drivers to smoke pot. Why?
Pot heads would come and work for you for $.04/mile. "
"Forget a paycheck, that company is 420 friendly! I am going to drive for Hippie Trucking! Don't have to shower, no APUs, no AC, but they will let us smoke pot!"gpsman, JohnBoy, joseph1135 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yea, you forgot, cry about people whining. ..
joseph1135 and RERM Thank this. -
Trucking is a tough profession, period. Irregular work/sleep cycles keep you constantly tired while trying
to run the wheels off the rig and earn a living. Traffic congestion and aggressive driving habits
also make this a very dangerous job. Once again trucking is in the top ten list for most dangerous jobs
in the country. Truckers are a different breed of people, myself included, we tend to be strong willed and
able to come back day after day for some of the hardest work in a thankless industry. We work hard for
our money, what little we get. But after almost 14 years out here, I still wouldn't trade it for an office job.
