I filled out a application for drivers solutions/greatCDL and Prime schooling ,when I called them both it rang for about 5 min and then I got the voice-mail to leave a message.
Due the long wait and then sudden voice mail it makes me think they screened the call ,looked at my application and then decided to reject me but rather then say it to my face they just shoved me to voice mail which is similar practice to other jobs I applied too.
I honestly don't get why these companys refuse to just say "Thanks ,but no thanks"
Getting sent to voice mail when calling recruiters ,is this a sign?(Prime,GreatCDL)

When have you called them?Keep in mind they don't work on Sundays and only half day on Saturday.Try now,you may get put on hold but I think they'll answer. If you still get the voicemail, call another dept and they'll transfer you. They're not going to reject you unless there is something on your record that stands out.

Hi Kev, nothing beats going in, in person. I heard that some companies are so jammed with emails and calls, they don't even respond to them anymore. One company(not trucking) said on the news, they had over 200 emails one day for a particular job, and didn't answer any of them. I've had my best luck going in and waiting for them, Pretty hard to turn you away, when you made the effort to go in.Tonythetruckerdude Thanks this.

Turns out they were just busy ,silly website said I could schedule a meeting for "now" but the guy was preoccupied with another driver.
Looks like I'm going with drivers solution but I need to wait till it's closer to when the school starts so they can make sure insurance will cover me . -

One instance where the "old way" is still the "best way" if you ask me.....I would much rather talk ftf with a potential employer than the "easy" way of the phone or an e-mail....lots of things can be gained by both parties at the table while eye-balling each other....just saying...but I'm old and set in my ways though......"semi" retired Thanks this. -
I don't think anyone disagree's with you ,besides those "feel gooders" who hate to ever get they're feelings hurt but they've always been around.
-
LOL....yeah...me and those "feel gooders" are sorta like oil and water.....together we just make a mess......
wife tells me I sometimes put folks off at the very beginning of a conversation or debate....but I've never felt the need to walk on egg-shells around anyone. If you ask for my opinion...I'll give it to you , but , don't think I'm gonna agree just to make you feel good....

Hi Tttd, that is so true, my ex told me the same thing. I never bs, but if you ask me something I know about, I'm going to tell it like it is. I think it boils down to some people don't want to admit they are wrong( like my old man) and it makes them look stupid, so they won't listen to you. I've never felt that way, if I don't know something, I'll ask and listen to what someone says. You can usually tell if someone is just blowing hot air, or they know what they're talking about.
Tonythetruckerdude and drvrtech77 Thank this. -
Nothing personal, but that's a "Fornicate with yourself, we don't need any drivers"
Take a hint, forget them, stop letting them waste your time, look elsewhere. -
Some of the old ways are still in my opinion the best. Showed in person at my current job
with their online application filled out and ready for review. Clean shaven, neatly dressed,
fresh shower, straight forward professional attitude, honest answers to any questions I was
asked, and viola, you're halfway there. Owner told recruiter to "put this man in a truck" on
the spot. Still had to do the usual stuff......back ground check, pee pee test, road test, etc.
But that one sentence from the owner makes all the difference in the office area."semi" retired and Tonythetruckerdude Thank this.
