Thanks, bergy. You gotta one up 'em, right? I have been known to give' em a Hershey chocolate bar out of my cooler too and really blow their mind! Tremendous shock value!

Good move, I do that sort of thing as well. I went through Safeway line last week and the lady was being a witch to the people in front. I got up there and opened my Oreos. Told her you look like you're having a bad day, have a cookie. She said no. I said you can't say no to a cookie, just take the #### cookie (with a smile). She took the cookie and started to laugh, as did the customer behind me. People are sometimes set in their ways to be grumpy at work. It's fun to mess with them sometimes.
It does seem that drivers are subjected to poor treatment, so I can imagine putting on a smile isn't always easy.Skydivedavec and "semi" retired Thank this. -
Whenever you do "Kill em with kindness" and a smile on your face, it usually leaves them no where to go.
Like I said in another thread: 10% of life is what happens to you every day. The other 90 is how you choose to react to it.bergy and Skydivedavec Thank this. -
Sometimes I feel sorry for them that they have the kind of life to carry so much animosity. But it's their choice to make it a better place, that 90 percent jbee speaks of. Love the Oreo tactic! Good move! I love Oreo cookies!
bergy Thanks this. -
Hi Honch, I agree, manners are almost non-existent, and we have to remember, like others said, you never know what happened to these people, but it's no excuse to be rude. Once, I held a door for a woman, and she walked right in and didn't say thanks, I looked at her and "your welcome". She looked at me like I was from Mars. Or I was at a grocery store, and a woman bagged my stuff, so I said thank-you, and she replied "uh huh", and I looked at her, and said, "you know, 'your welcome' would be better than uh huh". Like others said, be glad you can leave those places, and I've always felt, office workers( or receivers) are always jealous of that fact. And I'm sorry, but the last thing I would do , is give someone the finger on the way out, I hope that person was kidding about that.

I don't always care for the tone used when people say "Driver," but the word doesn't bother me. I don't think Doctors, nurses, police officers, etc complain when being addressed by their position?
sherlock510, gpsman and bergy Thank this. -

I'm pretty sure the finger comment was in jest, semi. And he did say as you go out through the gate! Kinda funny though. Man in your career you must have encountered them all. It is probably the one thing about being a truck driver that I find most challenging, that is dealing with these people who treat us like we're subhuman or aliens from Mars. -
I was thinking it was disrespectful, but you've swayed me. Excellent point.
