I emailed a guy on Craig's list for a job. I been trying to find something local. He asked me my qualifications. So I told him. Then he told me a little but about the job. First thing 39.5 cpm I laughed he got upset with me. He said there was other pay. But I ain't got time for that. I reminded him I been doing this for awhile And I'll look elsewhere. He was mad.

What are the other pays they guy mentioned? Some of those assessorial pays add up to quite a bit.

Stop pay was $18 a stop and that's all I got out of him. If it was a peddle route with 10 plus stops over 300 miles that might have worked. There are to many companies out here paying way more.

Hi Winkjr, I've done that too, emailed someone, and then bash them when they tell you the pay, then I felt kind of bad for doing that. The guy had the "chutzpah" to say, "well, times are tough, and people need jobs", and I said,"it's a shame that's how you are getting your drivers, hiring people that are out of options". He never got back to me. Actually, 39.5 cpm isn't the worst pay, but I agree with you, I wouldn't do it for that either.:biggrin_25513:

IMHO its wise to hear him out~~buddy of mine went to work for a guy in PA~~~that told him there was more&he was the first to listen past the .35 a mile
Turns out its approx 300 miles a day paid on hub.....same 5 stops'25 a stop...Then since he has to pull pallets to tail there is 25 stop handling~~no touch just pull to back~~&he has electric jack on trl...... and last stop is in Bronx so 100 NYC surcharge...then bounce back home to PA~~~~he averages abiut 7.5 hrs a day 5 days a week...been at it little over 4 years now.....do the math,,p,,the .35 a mike is almost irrelavant....just shy of 450 a day for less than 8 hrs.....which is a little more than 100 a day more than local NYC buster brown prevaling teamster wage.....lol
