While I agree some posters could be more diplomatic with their negative feedback, the fact(s) still remain that there are far more failures at CRE than successes. Also their lease package is not a good business plan for any O/O to be involved with, I know, I've checked it out. As an O/O currently leased (not a lease through them) to a good company, I still keep my options open and continuously check the compitition.

Also the fact that this thread is growing mold with no response by Deb or Virgil does not bode will for their success.

I disagree, if you're running your tail off you should be getting something. I mean how can a company set up a lease purchase program to make drivers fail at it? The only reasonable explaination I can see is if drivers are turning down loads or going home and not wanting to go back out, and if what they say about there lease program on there website isn't true then that's false advertisement.

That's the whole point of all the CRE criticism. It is set up to help you fail. That's why they have been sued so many times. Lost part of suit, won other parts. They are no different than a tote the note used car lot. They make a lot more the second, third, fourth time they sell the same truck. They are continually screwing lease drivers with escrow and maintenance hold backs. Giving the crappiest freight to lease and best for their company trucks. The evidence is just too overwhelming that they suck the big bone. Steer clear of this bunch of thieves. :biggrin_25513:

I guess it just boogles my mind that a company like CRE can get away with what they are doing, makes me feel bad for all the people that did the lease with CRE and hopefully grandma Debi sees the light and runs fast from there.

KR if I may shed some light.............:biggrin_2556:

I may jump around a bit back and forth but hope you get the jist..

If a company buys a truck (just using a number) $2,500 per month
lease it to L/O for $3,200 plus other costs just from the start they have a profit.

Then only give you a percentage of the load or by the miles that they have cut off the top or is not profitable for one of their company trucks to take you take it.

The company knows exactly to within 1-2 pennies what it costs to operate a truck per mile. Example; You see the ads in these books at the truck stops for carry our loads O/O get $.95 per mile For a company driver that has never been an owner operator They would say WOW I can make 94 cents per mile:biggrin_25522: HA

WHen you become an O/O L/O you now cover all expenses Taxes,
Tolls, fuel, permits in some cases, insur. and Maintenance Granted it does not happen everyday but a set of tires $3,000. for the tractor
Breakdowns you have 3 factors; 1. Loose the load you have(or penalty for being late) 2. cost of repair 3. downtime no money

So now after all these factors the 95 cents become 25-35 cents in your pockets. The cost to operate a truck on the road runs from $.50 to $.80 per mile adn all this depends on cost of truck, MPG, insur., etc.
    :biggrin_25510:

To get to the point the companies set the costs so you cover their costs and leave little for you unless you run and run and run and run............

    I hope this helped.
Just a few words or not......................J

To Add Bigduker is correct a group of L/O sued about a year or so ago because of bad faith contracting.

The problem with tha was contracts stated L/O would be charged fees but did not state how much the fees would be and the company charges outrageous costs without predisclosure.

As mentioned earlier the turnover is so high that if one person can't handle it quit co. sells truck to next person and the previous person has to pay off contract or have their future destroyed with bad debt and refernces. Winds up 2-3 people paying for 1 truck co. win win......:biggrin_25513:

We are all just on here to let people know what we went through. Maybe it helps them decide which company to go with or just shed some light on what they can expect. I believe with all that I have heard about CRE that it has to be the company that puts everyone up to fail cause there are more failures then I can count!!!!!!

At today's price of fuel it costs $0.80 a mile just for fuel. Thats at $4 a gallon. Many places its more than that.
