question about a cdl transfer

How is that beating the system a person can't legally have a cdl in two states so he has to transfer from mo but if his state won't let him do that with the paper copy and Missouri isn't going to mail it to another state what is he supposed to do ?

 

Purple Prime, if you are from Missouri and are familiar with the licensing procedures there, then you are familiar with the "Non-Resident" CDL right. Texas the only other state that has that category as I came to find out. The other states just require the right to legally work, am I wrong?

 

I don't think Missouri HSS a non resident cdl but I've been wrong the reason I say they don't is because the out of state guys that come to prime to get a cdl actually change their address to primes hotel and then prime gives them a proof of residency letter to get their Missouri cdl so legally they are Missouri residents until they change everything back to their home state

 

Okay I looked into this you are referring to ppl from other countries they do have a non-resident program for non u.s. citizens except for mexico and Canada but I'm not sure how it works

 

I didnt know that. I only went to the DMV. They asked me for legal presence. I did my knowledge exams. I passed the road test. However I did not know about the exception regarding Mexicans and Canadians. I guess if they had looked more carefully I'm pretty sure they would had denied me from the very start. Anyways they sent me a letter asking me for a US naturalization, because I am from that country.

I called the DMV, they said my CDL is still valid for the next month, hence why I was wondering if the paper copy could be used to transfer for another state, that does not have the mexico/Canada exception, because my CDL will be cancelled in the next month. It is only MO and TX that went out of their way for that "special " program". I am looking into moving to another state Cali, or Florida. But I don't want to go through the whole CDL process again if I can just switch.

If I moved from Georgia to missouri do I have to retake test?

 

You have a home address. That is your RESIDENCE. THAT is where you get your CDL. The pernament one that goes into your wallet.

If you want to sell the GA home and move to another state whatever it is, you HAVE TO SURRENDER your GA CDL and transfer to whatever state you moved into.

Moving to a state for a new home is different than just hiring on to some schlub at work hiring you from 2000 miles away.

You cannot have two CDL.s Or two of anything actually.

Yes. Missouri will take away your GA CDL, issue you a Vision test, a Tier one or two form, ask for your medical card, then proceed with the written test, endorsement tests etc etc etc.

 

So the basically do the same thing as Illinois do? and what's a tier, Vision and all that? pls explain..thanks
