IL and MI will get sent to the Gary IN terminal as well. I was there with 2 guys from MI. On their test day, 6 of us piled into the truck (road trainer, 2 MI, 3 IN), everyone fit and it does have seatbelts; and the 2 MI guys took turns driving to the the Michigan cdl test course which was about 3 hours away. On the way back, after they both passed, the 3 of us from IN were allowed to get drive time in.

Eric- I might be. I live in Royal Oak. I'll be starting in early August. I'm not sure if they'll let 2 rookies together, but I'd be open to team.

Rookies can team. You can find your teammate and let your driver manager know. You'll need to choose who is the lead driver.

Two rookies in the same truck. Reminds me of CRST

Years ago that was how Swift finished driver training...after coming off Mentor's truck two rookies were teamed for several weeks. An experiment that went south in a hurry and was quickly abandoned.

This is true! They will write you up and eventually terminate you for over-idle! I works for Swift for 3 years as a company driver out of the Lancaster Terminal...they're idle policy is 24% or lower, which means you WILL sweat like a slave in your truck!

It's amazing what a pair of window screens and a couple of clip on fans will do for comfort. My idle is currently sitting at around 5%.

Drivers do a LOT of unnecessary idling. Last week, I was at a truck stop where it was about 70 degrees and low humidity, and about half of the trucks were still idling. It got cool enough that I woke up under the blanket...
