Very reasonable. Drivers make so many meaningless issues, then get whack about them. Trucker/supertrucker. Driver/steeringwheelholder. Good comment, OHB.

I prefer a distinction of professional v. amateur. Professionals drive differently, and those differences must be obvious.
The question I would prefer is "What is it that distinguishes your driving as different from the vast majority of motorists/truck drivers?". The answer is nearly always "absolutely and obviously nothing".
"They" say "the day you don't learn anything is the day you should exit the truck", but if you ask any driver the last thing they learned about "driving" all you're going to get in return is a blank stare.
"Professionals" are never satisfied with their performance, they always see things they can/could have done better.
The professional sees their driving as nothing more than a constant series of errors. The professional standard is the difference of degree of what constitutes an error.
For the vast majority the only standards consist of "It doesn't get any better than no crash or ticket". I picked up the load and delivered on time, what more could you possibly want?! What more could there even be to "truck driving"?

steering wheel turner defined up here in the north country, someone too lazy to clean the snow and ice off their 5th wheel hook up to a trailer make it part way around another trailer and bang goes the trailers have pictures laughed so hard I almost peed myself he is one of them supertruckers.

Each truck drives differently. Fine tuning yourself to operate each truck to your best ability. That challenge is on going for the professional.
Wild Murphy Thanks this. -
One of the better quotes I've seen on this board. Well stated gpsman. Couldn't agree more!Wild Murphy and gpsman Thank this. -
A truck driver is courteous, follows the rules of the road and does not put others in harms way by his or her behavior.
A steering wheel holder doesn't show courtesy, out runs their log book, leaves the snow mountain on top of the trailer in the winter, tail gates other drivers while on their power trip, changes lanes without signaling, are only concerned about themselves and the amount of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ they will make.Wild Murphy Thanks this.
