Low carbing is the best way to loose weight IMO especially when physical activity is at a minimum. I'm doing Atkins and I've lost 40lbs since mid February. I try to pack as much food as I can but gas stations and truck stops typically have the Atkins bars as well. Since its a high fat and protein diet the stuff fills you up and your energy level is always up since your body is always technically eating (yourself). Low carb is the way to go. On top of the weight loss my BP went from Stage 1 hypertention to normal and my kidney and liver functions improved. Doing better overall.

Good job S42. A guy that gets it. They call the state of your body as ketosis. A very healthy and efficient state to be in. Also Always good to eat plenty of fresh fruit if you're set up for it,especially berries. Good luck

Keeping fit and trim as a younger male in your 20's and 30's is fairly easy, keeping fit and trim as you move into your late 40's and beyond ... not so much. If you ever develop that spare tire, it's VERY hard as a trucker to get rid of it, no matter what you do (barring an extremely controlled diet and access and devotion to strenuous work-outs daily ). About the best you can hope for is to stop the weight gain in the mid-section from getting worse then it already has.

    Bigdubber and Bumpy Thank this.
