    Or read. From the o/p...
So, bully for the guys getting 8, 9, 10 mpg with their box... never going to see that with a similarly spec'd truck with a flatbed. Except when empty and that typically doesn't pay real well.

You say the KW T680 cab is too big for you, but what do you think the Pete 579 is? They are both 2.1 meter cabs, so it's the same cab with a different layout. T680 has a 52" & a 76" cab while the 579 has a 44", 72" & an 80." Might want to sit in one of these trucks before ruling it out.

I think it is not so much as of the truck but the set up for what I've been reading. There is no truck that can achieve the 10 mpg without the right driver.
I wonder if that 8 mpg or better you say is from actual miles to fuel receipt-gallons calculations.
You are absolutely right. I spent an afternoon yesterday at paccar in Chillicothe looking at their yard equipment coming off brand new and boy I must say those t680s are just too peachy. I'd like one of those as well. There's only 3 items in my list that wear off from that truck and big sleepers:
The drivers seat can't be run back far enough or it'll rest on the sleeper comparments. The bed /there's no couch and when you do those 34 restarts on the road it gets tiring from seating without back support or laying on it for too long.
Also the roof is high, and drag increase increases fuel consumption.
Still those are great trucks and I'm now putting it in my list, I will just run it by the stealership with my specs and see what figures they'll granade back to me.

Lucar, the drag would be minimal because off the shape off the roof,as you no doubt have noticed yourself.
That couch ,i read somewhere that they have a swivelseat and workstation version.
Mounting your screen(i presume you have one) to the right brachet (one that would make it posseble to turn the screen)would combined with that swivelseat give you a very nice cab to use.
And a truckseat is much more adjusteble then a couch.

    Just a idea.:biggrin_25525:
