Don't tell safety until you arrive at the truck stop. Then tell safety, "I just pulled in to a truck stop and discovered a tire leaking air."

Of course if you have super singles you might want to be pretty dang sure you can get it to the truckstop

With my company, road breakdown governs truck/trailer repairs.
Safe/legal vehicles trump dispatch!
But with that said, the last three tires I have come upon, doing drop and hooks, that were completely flat, even off the bead of the rim... They have reseated and inflated (with the onboard air inflation system on our newer trailers) after rolling a bit.

Limp it...unless there is a scale before you get to the shop

I'd just swap tires with the truck next to me.You know, that driver who sleeps like the dead.

Then if the tire is ruined, you're going to blamed even more..

Many years ago (late 80's) I was one of the first people (in my group) to have one of these. I made it myself. I used to pull RR cans and in the middle of the night in Chicago, I'd pick up a wagon with 1 or more low tires, and I thought, where am I going to find an air compressor around here at this hour. Then it dawned on me, there's one 5 feet in front of me.:smt115

If it's not noted anywhere by whomever, then I'd just slow down and get it to the repair shop. Even with SS if you're not loaded you can go real slow and get it there to be fixed. If it's the steer then there's just to many legalities and I'd make the call. Something like that you'll want to shift the area of responsibility. It's happened to a lot of us and it's really no big deal if you catch it before it shreds.

Heat is generated more from side wall flex than speed.daf105paccar Thanks this.

A tire is considered flat at anything less than 60 psi. You can ruin a tire running it flat. Some tire shops will refuse to repair a tire that has been run flat.daf105paccar Thanks this.
