I am planning to order Cascadia glider soon... So if I get a truck with 12.7 pre-egr detroit with 2.64 ratio, 22.5LP tires, would this setup be good for someone who drives at 65mph? Should direct drive gear be in 11th or 12th in such case?
Thank you all for your help. -
This is my mindset as well. A gentleman I know started with a cheaper truck. He had so many problems, headaches and down time that it would have benefitted him greatly to start with a more expensive (better maintained) truck.

I got my t600 cheap for 10 grand and i only replaced the water pump.

It's not going to be like that forever.
You could get really lucky and be out of it before something goes BOOM, but the longer you stay with that truck the more likely that you'll see some really big bills. -
gliders is my next truck.
bigred81 Thanks this. -
You guys do know a glider comes with no motor or trans, so what engine do you have that is so good for a million miles as I would like one. I mean another million.
-
Unless if you order factory installed engine and not having tranny and rear axles. Pre-egr engines will do it's job. Detroit 12.7 non-egr, CAT C-12 (pre-bridge motors), C-15 (6nz), and cummins n-14 will do it's to million miles. My mbn may do it if I convert it into a 6nz engine.

Sounds well enough suited for 65 mph. If you were to limit it at 65 and maybe even cruze at 63, 279's would be preferable imo. Maybe even if you have a lot of hills. 265's are fine to be safe though especially if 65 is as slow as your likely to cap your driver.
Yes 11th is direct on a 13 double over.br2 Thanks this. -
Thanks for your help.
I had conversations with Harrison and they are just starting to get their first Cascadia gliders and there is a lot of unknown... They don't know yet if a direct drive transmission can be ordered...
In meanwhile, the sales rep mentioned me about trucks they are getting in couple months - Cascadia with 3.42 rear end ratio and 13 speed transmission. He told me that they can swap the tires for tall ones and it would give me close to 3.08 rear end ratio... What is your opinion on this? Would this be good setup for mpg?
