I've been driving for less than 6 months and I had two accidents, Two tickets for one incident, and four delivery times I was late for. The points against me were called astronomical by my DM. I am lucky to not have been fired. What can I do to salvage my trucking job?

Quit screwing up?
Kickstand-117, Thumper, peterd and 7 others Thank this. -
Pay attention to each task at hand. Use your time better. Don't get distracted. Your record does seem astronomical. Either you shouldn't be driving from lack of ability or you are thinking of things other than driving. Like anything you would want to do better at, you have to put the time in and purpose to do it right, with whatever it takes.navywill Thanks this.

What are you doing that is causing you to be late to appointments? If you are hanging out at truck stops, then stop. If it's because you are waiting till you are going to get there just in time, well then leave sooner.

Try to learn from your mistakes and pay closer attention to detail when you do things. Try to work on trip planning a little better too. If you feel that you won t make it on time, DO NOT wait until the last minute to say something to your dispatcher, but learn to communicate ahead of time

Maybe you are having issues with stress? I would be at my breaking point if I were you.

Find out is you are really sleeping or if you have brain fog. Your body can cause one to be unable to observe properly and when this is happening one often has attention and sleep problems. Google a little and see if something fits you.

Maybe this isn't for you. If you are still employed, you owe someone there a big kiss.

What were the two accidents?

Two accidents in less than six months? One of which you were issued two tickets for? Who are you, the company owners son-in-law?Thumper Thanks this.
