Stay Away from Marten Trucking

Marten does a lot at the Bethlehem railyard for Norfolk Southern. They have a ton of trailers in and out of there.

 

I don't go to that rail yard. I go to the Norfolk Southern Rail yards in Harrisburg PA, Rutherford PA (Harrisburg PA), and the one Norfolk Southern Rail yard in Greencastle PA. I wonder how much of that is contracted out though. I know the Bethlehem rail is smaller since several drivers at my company have gone there before and commented on that and the Bethlehem rail yard only goes south where is the Harrisburg Rail yard is larger and that rail yard sends freight west (more freight goes west then goes south). I doubt Marten uses CSX at all because I never seen there containers in the CSX terminal in Chambersburg PA.

That doesn't mean they are a good company to work for.
Mostly a regional operation now, most long loads are on the train, to where the region they are going to, then the regional side takes them to del.
FORCED PERDEIM and drivers are charged 2-3 cents per mile as a administrative fee. So they are making money or stealing is a better word, from the drivers.
Want more than 4 days off a month, you have to turn your truck in, clean it out. then come back get a different truck.

I got fired from them 5 years ago. I didn't get a letter from Randy.

 

I run that route all the time to get home and they always reimburse me. Never a problem with tolls.

 

I am gonna get a job with Marten. Then I am gonna go out and tear down a light pole or some famous historical structure in some quaint little town. Then I will see if that earns a letter from Randy. Maybe grind up some landscaping while I'm at it.
