i think i would not take allison,

since you have real drawbar trailer and works in city, and if you have frequent loading and unloading , it is nice to have clutch pedal when reversing , especially if you have some complicated locations, like reversing downhill , reversing uphill , some very narrow locations cornering while reversing....(in construction it is problem to reverse while being offroad that is where we have problem, if you have to pass some barrier, mud or something it becomes pretty tricky)

good thing is that you have twin tires, it makes more resistance

i dont know how are american AMT without clutch pedal ,here they are now pretty good in maneuvering mode throttle pedal become clutch and it is very sensitive

A smart shift would be easier I think as there are wiring harnesses already available and physically most everything to mount etc is the same.
Not sure who could do it in your part of the world but I don't think it is a huge modification

really autos are not beloved here, but now manual is the option.

Alisson are like car transmissions with torque converter. ZF makes autos with torque converters too, but generally europeans use alisson and zf autos in buses. really I saw Atego and Econic trucks with alisson 6 st transmissions too. if alisson tranny failes we use to switch to manual from any JY ore rebuilt transmission.

Argosy is not popular truck here becouse european cabovers are really better, but operators say that argosy is notisable less heavy than EU cabover, becouse of made of aluminium cabin.

Morning SmokinCat, nope it is not a Freightliner.

I had to go up and ask the owners about it, unfortunately the original owner has past on and the truck is being kept in his memory by his daughter.
