    "I HAVE A 2007 freightliner WITH A MERCEDES OM 460 LA ENGINE IN IT.when rpm goes over 1400 engine has some clicking noise.Engine not losing power,oil pressure is good.on neutral same problem clicking noise.Any idea?"

    is it a click or a tap? where is the clicking coming from? clicking could be from vibration. hood shake could cause clicking sounds. tapping will usually be valves. if you can hear it threw the shifter, then it's in the tranny or something around it.

    the tapping came from engine head when RPM over 1400.

    Did you get a solution to this issue?
    You know there is a valve lash setting on each valve in the Head,
    and they have to be set correctly or they either will make noise,
    or be tight and break somthing. The old guy says he would rather
    hear them just a little; like .005-.009 than be tight,
    and give you a surprise rest stop visit.
