Doesn't all securement have to be legal no matter how much you have?

No if you have more than what's required you don't have to count all of it in your aggregate weight rating. Therefore if you've got 45,000 lbs of pipe with 8 straps and one of them is using that device that doesn't count your still covered under the aggregate rules not counting if as securement.

My winch bar doesn't have the boxed end, it's just a pipe with the tip for the winches

The boxed end ones have a little lip on the tip and won't work with our conestogas.

I made up some short chains for strapping over the wheel wells of the step. I painted them red so they are easier to spot in my chain box. Its not ideal but it works in a pinch.

Couldn't he just unhook a chain and let it fall though behind the binders? He could do that until he needed the two outside chains, then he would need to remove every binder.

    Flightline Thanks this.

Whenever I'm using chains, I'm using the 4 ratchet binders also. So I don't feet it creates any more work. Very rarely do I have a chain load that can't use 4 ratchet binders on.
I do have flip binders also and keep the hanging on different chains but little deeper.

Load leveler. Kind of hesitant to post this, if you do it wrong or use for the wrong product you could really screw something up. But for the load I picked up today it worked great and I have a project at home to use the 2x6's on so really not out anything.[IMG][IMG]
