personal preference as a broker..... InternetTruckstop is just horrible. Transcore is where I find the most reliable carriers that I am willing book with great rates.... Just giving my 2 cents.

I appreciate this response.... I have carriers that I work with for quite some time now, and give them year round rates because I have established trust with them.. "Trust is built on consistency."
You might not believe me when I say this, but when I am shot an average truck market rate that other drivers are taking loads for, or they are under the truck market rate, I seriously do not care to pay another $100 or more. I tell you why, because I would rather pay a good carrier great money than trying to find a cheap carrier just for them to do a crappy job. Sorry to say this, but you know they are out there, and really do not give a flying flip when a load delivers because they know they are hauling a load for TQL. Just because a broker works for a company, doesn't mean they are a horrible broker like some of the horror stories that have happened. Everybody wants to talk about how bad a company is, but yet they never want to say anything good when it happens, and I know what you are going to say.... ***WHEN IT HAPPENS*** .. it happens more often than you think. Just get a broker who has good freight and ask when the next one is if you like that load. I am telling you first hand, I will go the extra mile to help a driver out if they need a reload, because I truly believe in helping you guys out. All of you are people too, and have feelings, families, issues just like anybody else in this world. If I could help someone out, I will be #### sure I do my best to do so.AVIV TRANSPORT INC Thanks this. -
The best brokers are the ones who pay well and always pay on time, etc.

I am working for a fairly new, small, asset basedcompany. They are providing me with free training,
more support than I could ever ask for, and they donthave any minimum markup requirements.
I know its chump change but 5% of $100.00 is better than0% of $1,000,000.
My goal is to build solid working relationships, with thecarriers and shippers. I will pay my carriers a fair rate or I wont take theload. Can I always get the carrier the rate they want? No, and neither cananyone else.

Richter hit it on the head. I have 2 good brokers that I've worked with alot that pay me well that account for close to 75% of my loads. They have their own load boards I'm signed up on for free. I also have an Internet Truckstop account my agent provided me with for free and another free freight board I use to fill in the gaps. I have a few more brokers I know will pay fair rates I use as fillers and once in awhile get what I can to get back on track.
CHR and TQL will pay, they just don't pay well unless you consider 1.40 a mile good. I consider $2.00 or better good. Preferrably closer to $2.50. I'll even do $3.00+ now and then.
Don't haul cheap freight! It hurts all of us!Last edited: Aug 16, 2014
