    Picked up a new one and it's been running in my car and now on the adaptor for 2 hours and seems to be fine.
    When Ratchet gets back next week I will check the wires, too.

    Thanks for reminding me that they aren't Real Refrigerators! duh We are getting a real one but I haven't figured out a way to do everything at once and the fridge is 2 things down on my list for this week. Am working on it, though. Should have one by the time he gets back. Don't want him sick nor having a cab fire...

    Back in my younger days (much younger days), I had an Olds 98 that would fit a 12-pack of, uh... you know... beverages in the glove compartment. :biggrin_255:Anyway, I disconnected the AC duct and rerouted it into the glove compartment—worked slicker than snot for keeping the barley pop cold, lol.

    I seriously thought about doing the same thing in the truck... no, not for chilling brown beverages... sheesh! Running some ductwork into a cooler and have cold drinks as long as the AC was on. It works pretty good.

    My OEM fridge cost close to $500. Prior to buying it I was paying $100 to $200 a week in road food. Now I can go 2 weeks on $100 if I'm careful. Does not take long to pay it off.

    I can freeze any thing in it if I want to turn it down that low. I keep it set at 35 so that my food stays cold. I take left overs from home with me and get almost home cooking every day.

    Have been looking for a Real Fridge. Sure would be a good thing to have. A mike would be nice, too.

    Any body else looking for what I got go to the flyingjestore website and do a search for Waeco.

    That unit will fit in KW models like the T6, T8, and W9. Not sure about the T2000. You will only have to do very slight mods to the unit and the hole its going into. Take the feet off the unit, they are just screws. And there is a small sheet metal strip in the hole with a cooling fan on it. That will unscrew and be thrown away. The unit has 2 cooling fans on it.
    You may have to do some slight metal work with a hammer to get the unit in. Some of the sheet metal panels are just a wee bit too tight for the unit to slide in. Knowing what you know from my install efforts you should be able to install in just a few minutes. I had to do the trial and error thing.

    I went through those same issues with cords and plugs melting. The one I have now (Same make) seems to be doing alright. I ran the plug out of the proper cabinet and have it plugged in at the bunk. It allows me to make sure it is working. Getting them at walmart helps because there isn't the issue on trying to return them.
