I just got done reading a training diary on another site about Prime's training program. im impressed. Im a little nervous on the driving part since ive never driven a stick shift. Any tips on that? I am currently discussing my options with the s/o. Thinking i may contact a recruiter. I will look into Witte bros and mid west coast though. Unfortunately, the private or community college option is out due to finances, so that limits me to company paid programs. One question, can you choose which division you want to go with? Im really wanting to go flatbed as i enjoy the load aspects versus the vans.

I start Witte Bros training tomorrow. If you have questions feel free to send me a PM. They're reefer only, though, so you may not be interested in going that route.

A few of the trainers I've talked to have said that teaching someone to drive that doesn't have manual transmission experience is easier. It takes a bit to unlearn how to drive manual in a car (and on the flip side, a little bit to relearn when taking home time).

You are free to choose whichever division at Prime but keep in mind that there are significantly more reefer trainers than flatbed. worst case scenario you might wait a couple extra days for a flatbed trainer to become available.
