I don't know what to say about the issues with maintenance. I've always been a winter haven driver and I've always parked my truck at the yard when I go home. Never had a problem getting things fixed on the road when it was something that they fix on the road. If it wasn't something they fix on the road then I had to call dispatch and get them to route me to winter haven. You get there as quickly as the freight will allow, as with any other destination. When the techs don't have anything to do they check out the trucks on the yard and whatever they find they fix. If it needs a pm it gets done. My experience in the past seems to have been a lot different from the drivers who don't live around there.

IRT is known for not wanting to service their equipment. They used to go 40,000 on oil changes and just change the filters back in the old days. All that pretty equipment is leased and if warranty does not cover it it is not usually fixed unless it is a safety issue. Don't worry about it just keep oil and water in it and run like hell. As far as the qualcomm do you have a cell phone? If you do that is all you need and stop sweating the small ####. Trust an old hand at this you will be alright. Just pick up and deliver your loads don't worry about loading after it was supposed to have all ready been delivered that is the IRT way book anything that comes in and cover what you can when you can. Take a deep breath grasshopper it will be ok and they will get you to Fla have faith.
xlsdraw, Spring Chicken and lugnut84 Thank this. -
When you get winter haven park in front of one of the service bays, even if you arrive at night. Should be the 2 closest ro the driver lounge. This way your truck is first in line. This is how we did it a few years ago. If you wait till the shop opens others will get in before you.

this guy who I met at orentation (who witnessed the BS that I and other guy went through) said "this company doesn't like to spend money"
granted, nobody likes spending money, but at the same time 70% or so of the company is running around in Petes (i'm not, I wouldn't be caught dead driving one) they seem pretty liberal with their idle policy, I assume pretty liberal with their fuel policy (nobody follows it), they'll pay overweight tickets, and they have had a pay increase since I started. I also was driving 72MPH through NE, WY, and UT in July (why is WY 75 in the praries and in Sweetwater county, and 80 in the Mountians?)
name a company that is ok spending money on this stuff? drive 66MPH, disobey fuel stops, and even deliever a late load you're written up or fired (with "failure to obey orders" written on your DAC) with any other company -
Jabber 1990....
You worry too much. Way too much. You've already had good advice here. Run your loads, run them safely, and let somebody else worry about all the stuff that's making you stress out.
If you can't handle a job as basically simple as IR, maybe you need to look for an entirely different way to make your living. Why make yourself miserable and irritable...and it's very obvious from your posts that you are...over things that aren't your fault and that you can't change?
Whining to us isn't solving your problems. You need to talk to IR.MidwestResident, dwalto, The Challenger and 2 others Thank this. -
Do yall hire felons

Spring Chicken Thanks this. -
As long as I'm making money and drive a nice truck that can run the speed limit I could care less how the company handles their finances. And if you ever drove any Paccar built truck Pete or KW you'd never want to drive anything else. Best built best riding trucks on the road. Not to mention the last ones made solely in the USA.
Spring Chicken Thanks this. -
Dude what is whit you and this "being yelled at" stuff in every other post. Are you a man or a child? I'm not coming at you but you sound like a kid. The last time I was yelled at I quit a job and the time before that I spent a night in jail. Stan up for your self.FLATBED, The Challenger, lugnut84 and 1 other person Thank this.
