In Le Ray, Il. was lucky to be able to get my load out of Waterloo. It seems from the writing on the wall(literally) that they are slow. LOL. Almost at the end of my 10 soon. Should be able to make that first Pilot in Nc on 40 today.

Onto important stuff. Got both drafts for my Fantasy Football leagues this weekend. Might join one more with a friend. Got crushed last year cause Rodgers went down.

wulfman the difference with e-logs is that a lot of companies were forced to go with those for their CSA score. Drive-cams are preventing big losses in lawsuits. The ACA has studied the crashes the last few years and according to them most of the time the 4 wheeler is at fault(I think it was like 75-80%). So it makes sense to have one. We are just so targeted out here for so many scams. Flash it would be smart of you to get one. I know what your saying about it pointing in the cab but if you are in an accident and the other person says you were on the cell phone that inwards camera could prevent you from getting major fines or possible jail time, so I don't mind. Just cover it when I am going to sleep.

    Be safe out there

I have not tried it, but there is a way you can set up your android phone to serve as a dashcam. You can still use your other apps, like make phone calls, listen to music, etc while it records in the background. I don't want to mess around with my main regular phone, but my sister has an older phone that she will give me to play around with, for this app and other trucker related apps. If I get it up and running, I will post results.

George is home now. He got home last night about 6:15. Yard work prevails. He's outside mowing. I did some weed whacking, but came in to cool off. For whatever reason, mowing and such exertion causes me to get red in the face soon after I've begun. As a kid, when that happens, Mom would get kind of flustered over it and tell me I better rest a while. She still does! So, I'm resting! Hope everyone's having a great day!!! :biggrin_2556:

Picked up a load early yesterday, in PA going to a Walmart DC in OK. With the early pick-up, it had about 36 hours too much time built into it. Luckily, I got a swap yesterday afternoon going back to NJ. Delivered this morning, now on my way for a pick-up in Upstate New York. Swaps do sometimes work in your favor, that one yesterday should add a net of about 600 miles to my next paycheck.

I did research last year when I bought one for the King. There are some really nifty looking cameras out there but the major complaint was on reliability....and that would be my concern on a phone app. I think trying it on an extra phone is a great idea. Since most record on a continuous loop, deleting and recording over, one of the things that I would wonder about when using a phone is locking in an event. It should be a simple push of a button without a lot of additional steps involved......something that requires no extra thought. Since buying one last year I have heard good things about the GO PRO cameras also and know that many drivers are using them. They are more widely available and even most WalMarts will carry them.

Another thing with using the phone app is mounting it in your truck ....is it on the dash or is there a mount for your windshield? With a dash cam you have the ability to set it up to give yourself a better view in blind spots. For instance, if I am standing in front of the King's truck he can not see me if he is sitting in the driver's seat .....but the camera will. Just a few thoughts on things to consider. This is the one that we purchased and we have been happy with it .....however, it was about $150. http://dashcamusa.com/about-us.php
