    HI,

I just got my CDL with Hazmat. I don't have any experience. The Button website says they will train you how to drive a truck if they need to. Do you know if they really will give you a chance to drive for them? I really want to work for this company. I live close to Sacramento...Thanks

I can't say how it was when this thread was started but I have worked for Bob for almost 2 years now and I can say that Bob is a nice guy. He thanks me and tells me I'm doing a good job. I make good money. The only drivers that get paid mileage are the food grade and reefer drivers. Anhydrous and propane is paid hourly and everyone else is commission which I might say is a good wage. At least I make good money. Also, he does pay detention after 2 hours. Does he hire rookies? You bet and a lot of them don't make it but at least he gives a fair shot to each and every driver he hires.

Bob recently bought some new trucks and flew drivers all over the country to pick them up. He paid for rooms and sent each driver out with a pocket full of cash. It was none of this "pay out of your pocket and we will reimburse you". He gave us cash to eat, drink and be merry and we got paid a daily wage on top of that. Yeah, he's a real meanie!!

Got a problem with your truck or trailer? No problem, the mechanics will fix it and fix it right. No one is ever told or coerced into driving an unsafe truck.

As far as Benjamins...That's his sons business ran out of the same yard. Buckeye is his son in laws business ran out of the same yard. Nothing wrong with running multiple businesses out of one yard.

Finally, show me a company without any accidents and ill show you a real live unicorn.

It's funny that some of you clowns accuse the guy of being Button because he has good things to say about the company. I guess you can call me Bob too.

Oh yeah, one more thing. The man gives bonuses every year and I'm not talking a couple hundred dollars either. The longer you're there the more your bonus is. He also regularly holds BBQ's for the drivers not to mention the many times you can walk into the drivers lounge and find pizza or donuts or cake or breakfast burritos for our taking. Yeah, he's a real jerk!

Yes. If you can pass the drive test you will be hired. Don't listen to these knuckle heads. Do your job, don't damage equipment and it'll be a good company to work for. There are slow times of the year but if you show you're a worker the dispatchers will do their best to keep you busy.

With your awesome detective skills why are you driving a truck? Certainly your skills would be more helpful in locating Jimmy Hoffa or finding out who really killed Jon Benet Ramsey. Everyone on this forum had a first post. Doesn't take an Einstein to figure that out.

Thanks for the information.. What do they have you do for the drive test? Do they have 10 speed rigs?

    Thanks

You'll be testing with a 10 speed pulling double flats or maybe a set of hoppers. If hired you'd be hauling almonds or tomatoes to start.

Who said I drive a truck? A real Sherlock Holmes you're not. And I'm sure both these posts are from the same computer, the one in Button's office
