I know this account doesn't seem to be a very popular account do to trailer unloads, lazy store employees, tight spaces and the such, but was trying to get a realistic outlook on this position. I'm hoping to find out what type of miles one would look at (coming out of Goldsboro, NC), possible destinations, unload pay and any other information you deem worth noting. I've narrowed my choices to a couple of pre-hire opportunities and am now just trying to separate bs from fact.
Thank you in advance for your time and responses..

none from schneider that I know of post here about this account in general or that DC specifically. for the dedicated stuff, the recruiters are fairly accurate on what you are asking about. you can also ask them about the range that DC works and go to DG site for store locations within that radius.
I dont hear good things about dollar anything from anyone.
Try doing a search here and you will get to threads/posts from folks who have run it and can give the low down on the work itself.
Good luck where ever you land. -
I can only see a company obtaining this account as a disciplinary tool or termination ploy to route the driver down the road of unemployment.Chinatown and freightlinerman Thank this.

a bucket of poo is bucket of poo no matter how you market it. my friend did dollar account for several years. one of the things he learned if anything goes wrong its your fault know matter what, he says they are not going to put there account in harms way to make you feel better about some problem. one of his accounts you had to back up a alley a buried water main broke and they said its a chargeable accident. he had been backing up the same alley for over a year. be safe out there
Chinatown Thanks this. -
That safety guy needs to get kicked right in the nuts and ask him if it was preventable for not wearing a cup? This is silly. I would never do one of these Family Dollar or Dollar General gimmicks. I detest going to Ardmore, OK to the DG center, its a dump. Profit margins are tight, they can't afford to pay the driver a decent wage. Manual labor unloading, tight spaces, etc. It's not worth it. It would have to pay $21.00 an hour minimum or $300.00 a day to make it even look appealing.6 Speed Thanks this.
