my brother is looking at getting in to the industry. I am at Carter express in Anderson Indiana. He is trying to get on with them but it is not looking likely. Do any of you recommend any companies that will hire a driver with a bad driving record.

The big thing is a has to be a company that pays for the schooling to get his CDL like carter Express and a few other companies do. We are in Anderson Indiana just outside of Indianapolis if that helps atall.

Thanks guys! I have always appreciated all of your advice, comments and opinions.

A bad driving record does not bode well for a person seeking to land a driving job. He ought to spend a few years keeping his nose clean before he spends the money or takes on a huge debt getting a worthless CDL.

No experience + bad driving record = not likely to get hired anywhere. Heck, even with decades of experience, a mistake or two on your MVR will make it difficult to find a job in this industry.

Suspended 27 times. Hahaha but most of those were suspended again while driving on suspension or this or that. He has 0 points.

Just the fact that his license was suspended is enough to severely limit his options. Doesn't even matter if the state suspended it because your car's emissions inspection expired or if you were behind on your child support...when the application asks if you have been suspended, you need to check "yes", and often times your application isn't looked at much further.

this is true, i had a near perfect driving record but had a suspension due to a late payment on a non moving violation. in short basically a parking ticket.
coming out of school only the bottom feeder companies would hire me and I started at a wonderful .26CPM with no school reimbursement which I paid $4K for

So driving while his license is suspended, I can see once or twice, but 27? Does not have any regard to the rules, but you want him in a 40 ton truck - how many times will he fudge his log book or drive unsafe?

I cannot see why you take this so lightly. What would have happened if he killed someone or a family while driving on a suspended license?

Suggest as others, Professional driving is not for him.
