Man it wasn't even 5oclock yet and he was getting saucy....

I feel sorry for the truck driver having to expiereence this. Hopefully he knows there is nothing he could have done to avoid this. I hope his paperwork is in order or a totally innocent driver could be railroaded as responsible for the accident. Thank God this pos didnt take an innocent life. As to the drunk GOOD RIDANCE!!

Social Darwinism at work.

kinda pisses me off they named the truck driver but not the idiot drunk behind the wheel. But this is exactly the reason everyone should have a dash cam. (both trucks and cars) cover yer ###.
NavigatorWife, Charli Girl and Marky84 Thank this. -
I agree, but I think it has more to do with notifying their next of kin, first.gpsman and NavigatorWife Thank this.

Don't be silly. How do you think you know that?!
[As the SUV returned to the right lane in front of the semi...]
Trucker lifts off throttle and expects to brake, collision presumably possibly if not likely avoided.
[...it suddenly veered to the right and left the roadway for an unknown reason.]
Trucker hits brakes, collision presumably possibly if not likely avoided.
[The SUV then swerved back onto the interstate.]

[The semi came to a rest 900 feet from the point of impact.]
900 feet, after the collision.

Well, the thing you have to remember is he was probably the only inebriated motorist on the road within 200 miles.
Estimates of 25% of motorists being under the influence of some substance are probably exaggerated by "safety nuts".
Just keep the hammer down, these incidents never occur to those not expecting or otherwise unprepared for them. -
So you saying that when I was in left lane done 5 under and someone to the right ran a stop sign and hit my drive tires it could have been avoided since ot took me 500 ft at 35mph to get stopped keeping truck under my control in my lane slowing down slow enough and double checking I could slide to a safe spot without causing a secondary wreck with those right behind me?
At 65 900 ft after trying to avoid unsuccessfully but keeping the truck from jack knifing or smash other or stoping to fast and causing another wreak is not unlikely to have been unavoidable.
Not saying thats what went on or was unavoidable just that I can see it both ways
Oh and your probably right on the safty nuts being offallniter Thanks this. -
