For those that don't know, here are a few other of my "experiments"....lol
Home made 5th wheel riser. 1"x6" solid steel. $120 beats the heck out of over $700 for new risers from the dealer!

You put insulation down under that hardwood? How did you fasten the hardwood?

 

The flooring is what is classed as a floating floor. This it isn't nailed down etc.

Shoot. I admire the apparent discipline of his dog. I don't want to find out what would happen with mine if I put a bone chew toy next to a couple pairs of shoes. It would be like bait.

 

really. that's hard to imagine. I understand how it would work in a house but in a truck. hmm I need to look into that.

 

I have done it the same way for about 15 years now, it works.
Cut tight, bolts for seat belts, seats, etc, it goes no where.
By all means look into it though..... Or just do it and find out for yourself!

awsome work on the floor, but what do you need new 5th wheel risers for? how do they wear out?

 

Didn't wear out at all. I needed to raise my 5th wheel for the type of trailer I pull is all. Dealer wanted over $700 for new risers etc. I did it for under $200, including 18 new grade 8 bolts.

Good job. The truck will feel totally different with the new flooring.
