Then the first step should be to follow proper channels and report the dispatcher to the company safety director and see what he does about it.....especially if it is planned to follow through on a federal level and expect to be taken seriously as a whistle blower. It is a practical solution in addressing the problem. Of all the people in management positions at TransAm, Mr. C is the one that most drivers would tell you that they have respect for. He has an open door policy and has always returned the calls of his drivers. My suggestion was undeserving of your rudeness ....but then again there is a certain element in the trucking industry that lacks the manners and education to properly deal with work related issues. Bluster and arrogance by people lacking the intelligence to deal with situations in a mature manner only perpetuate the problems that real drivers face every day.

I heard that's supposed to be for only flatbed drivers.

Now how am I going to inspect my cargo with it's sealed inside my van trailer?
    Teleport inside?

the OP is a company driver so your putting non relevent details in there

it kinda seams like this thread went from informative to bickering. Paper logs vs Electronic logs in situations like this I think the paper wins out. Ive used both and I did like e-logs when seeing how many hours I have left for the week.

If you what to nipp it in the butt, just say no problem just send me a message that says just that! Lol

When you do that, you have put them on notice! And you have shifted owner ship of this issue right back to them.

IT IS AN ON DUTY ISSUE.

If I do a swap during my 10 hour break in a truckstop I note I dropped the trailer at the beginning during my post trip and picked up the other during my pretrip. That way it's not interrupted.

I do that all the time at our drop and hook in Southaven, MS since the drops are usually at 5am or 8pm and we are allowed to stay on the property. That way I don't start my 14 hour clock before dispatch is in the office.

On duty ,if that's the trl you are taking off with ....if you're just moving trls around the yd ,you should be on the clock or paid a service fee ,so the answer is on duty .....of course with a company like TRANS AM ,they probably expect you do it for nothing ( welfare trucking )

not sure if office people are commenting on here- being a company driver the swaps take high mile runs and turns them int no mile runs with mulitple stops over mulitple days. they sit me and am told to start my 10 hr. rest so i can run the late load on time and interupt the 10 hr rest. i have added comments to my log and did a swap on duty. after sleep i woke and found the log was changed by the dipatchers supervisor. I understand the issue of company driver but to actual change my log and have i to sign it as a legal doc. I,m sure management employees know this behavior excists that is why i feel going to them is not changing others behavior.
