So making a joke is forbidden?
Then again just your very reply added onto the non relevant details on this thread.

never learned or was in any tests that I'm supposed to inspect cargo in a van trailer after 50 miles -
I understand your frustration and distrust, transam34. To my knowledge none of the answers that you have been given are from any office employees.....Cranky Yankee and I just have several years experience with TransAm and know how their system works. If you had gone to the TransAm Still thread you would have seen that and realized that there are many of us there that have tried to help new drivers. You really have several different issues going on here. Your original question was about being covered in the case of a work related injury, then it went to the legalities of logging, and now the real frustration of multiple swaps, low miles and the pay to go with it, and the fact that your elog was edited without your knowledge or consent. Most of these questions have been answered many times by actual TransAm drivers .....and they would have been happy to answer them again. If you work for TransAm you will do swaps, it is part of their business model. However, what we have found after pooling our experience with the company is that there are certain places that you are more likely to get stuck with a swap .....and you learn to avoid taking your 10 at those places unless you have a load that you would like to get rid of..... lots of tips that would have helped you get your experience and move on to better pay with someone else.Milkman719 Thanks this.

Well if it isn't on the test and it isn't taught in CDL school it must not exist. I was never taught about the 16 hour short haul exemption and it wasn't on any test but I know it exists because I read about it in the regulations. There are quite a few rules and regulations that schools don't teach and that aren't on tests. Any DOT officer will tell you that ignorance is no excuse.
I think it's more than obvious that you cannot open a sealed trailer to inspect cargo but you are still required to inspect your truck and trailer within the first 50 miles.
