I think Pete or panhandle dropped the possum off at Hometime's to keep her on her toes. That had to be quite a shock, though. Kind of like, "Surprise!" or "boo!!" BTW, HTQ, what happened to your tame wildcat?
Unfortunate for gamma, but looks like he'll be spending a little time at home with his babies. Praying for healing, gamma.

George is waiting at Memphis, Tennessee for a swap and will be taking his new load to Norcross, GA.
dennisroc Thanks this. -
well she does live out in the boonies so they probably come around every now and then.

'possums are harmless even though they look mean. Unless you corner one or they are protecting their young. It's why they play dead, so the predator or whatever is around will leave, then they walk off.HometimeQueen Thanks this. -
Thought I'd check in today. I'm going to try and remember as much as possible as I type this.....
Happy birthday, George! I hope it went well for you.
What horrible news about gamma, wow. Sincere wishes on a speedy recovery.
I hope your move went well, Yankee. (On a baseball note, it's all over but Baltimore shouting. Angels win the big dish this year).
Thank you to passport and all of you for providing me with my education. I mention passport because I want to know about electronic stuff I might want/need but I'm afraid I'll need to be in the truck to fully understand what he's telling us....lol.
Badger, always a pleasure to hear of your trials and tribulations. I don't think I'll ever put a reefer in a death hold to get the DM's attention, but by God, it's funny reading.
Mrs. Queen, I thought you lived somewhat near Joplin. I even thought about you guys when that weather blew in.
I'm a big fan of all of you. If my memory was better I would have mentioned all by name, but I can't seem to place the deeds with the names sometimes...lol. Whichever of you (jaso?) that went to NYC to help a driver needing to get home. Awesome of you to do.
As for me? we got rain for 5 minutes thanks to Dolly. I miss rain, we act like it's snow around here these days (Look everybody! It's raining!). I think my dog tied into a skunk last night. I let him out and he ran all out to a corner of the yard. Next thing I saw was him rubbing his face hard in a patch of dirt and a feint smell of skunk perfume and his right eye was irritated. At first I worried he'd come across a rattler or a copperhead, but no. I gave the little cretin an unscheduled bath around midnight but his face still stunk a little bit.
I think he tangled with a skunk that didn't take his best shot or was shooting blanks. If he'd gotten a fully loaded shot from an average skunk this whole area would still smell, but as it is, only his face stinks a little.

Quick question about TransAm policy on drivers calling shippers. Last I heard it was a fireable offense, or close to it, but it seems if you call the shipper/receiver and are professional during the call nothing is said. Could anyone elaborate?
Be safe out there!

Sounds like a rough time moving Cranky , hope things get to running smoother. Moving is a big job.
My wife and I were talking about when we decide to move that some things will go to the Philippines and some to the USA. We have been here in Korea for 9 years and agreed we would try not to buy too much, lol That didn't happen.
We have already sent some things but still have a lot to go. We live in a 3 bedroom apartment and have managed to keep plenty of stuff in each room.
One room I am building an airplane and will ship the parts back to US and assemble , my wife calls that room my hangar lol
Full of airplane parts. People ask me how far along am I on my plane and I say 90% with 80 %
to go
jungHo and HometimeQueen Thank this. -
Roadkill, glad my misadventures entertain more than just me!
They generally discourage us from calling shippers. I believe it's because they don't want us changing appointment times. But sometimes you have to call for directions or you can find out if there is overnight parking or if they would take you early. I have sometimes been told to call and ask about early delivery because dispatch wasn't allowed and nothing ever came of it except the answer the customer gave. I haven't personally heard of them taking action against a driver who called a customer.
Just in case anyone was wondering, Republic Plastics in Knoxville sucks! That place was built for 45' trailers not road tractors and 53s! On the bright side it's only 7200 lbs dropping tomorrow in Fulton, MO. I settled down at the TA in Knoxville. Came back out to the truck to find another TransAm truck cozied up to my tail. Herd mentality, lol. Gotta love it. -
wulfman is right. In Jan and Feb when dry van is slow reefer vans are still rolling. we do slow a little but no where near dry van. Some dry van companies roll really good all year round but most don't. This right now is the busiest time of the year for everyone up until Thanksgiving then everyone else but reefer slows down a little. Then the big drop off in Jan.

I call shippers and receivers all the time. You just have to be professional. If you are not that is when you might get into trouble. In orientation Joe did say we weren't allowed to call but that was because drivers end up cursing out the people in the office if they didn't get the answers they wanted. I always say sir or ma'am and please and thank you so if you do that they will never call and complain about you
wulfman75, Road_Kill and .honeybadger. Thank this. -
