Ok I still new to flatbed division 5 months in now but I have come across this scenario a few times now and I go wtf. I get to a shipper today and it's down pouring like a hurricane is coming. I see several guys loading the product which is wrap and on pallets and also in the open where rain is falling on the product. After the guy loads me I look at the paperwork and it says load must be tarp. What???
so I guess Its ok for the product to get rain on in the open but when I put it on my truck it can't what nonsense anyway that's all for now lol keep trucking

They don't want their product covered with road grime.

This "flatbed nonsense" obviously isn't your thing. You should just quit now. No sense prolonging the agony.

Become an owner operator and choose to haul uncovered freight only! Problem solved ! Of course you lose out on allot of freight having that practice.

crying about tarping in the rain. Oh boy. It's when the stuff is white and it's -20 with a stiff wind, THAT you can cry about.

Or when the tarps freeze to the load, in the shape of a load, or folded up before you can get them on the load. Fail

    Joetro Thanks this.

Or arrive at a consignee the nite before: pass out, wake up next morn in the dark and find out it snowed 6". Now you have to get up on top of the load, and shovel it off (don't cut the tarp with the shovel blade!) because with the snow on top it's too heavy to drag off the load.

lol o boy I could write a list longer than my arm

Joetro, Lucar and Cetane+ Thank this.

Three years, tarped one load and made considerably more than the average flatbedder. I fail to see the problem?
