Your paperwork should have had what is called a delivery spread. So, the movers could delivery between the earliest date and latest date on there. There should be something on your paperwork that has a date by RDD (Required Delivery Date) With a REPUTABLE company they would be required to pay you some type of damages for a late delivery after the RDD. These companies popping up on the internet now a days are just scary. Horror stories of charging you more to get your stuff and sometimes just losing everything. Good luck and I hope you get your stuff soon.

Do they at least intend to make an appointment before they come?
Or will they just show up when they feel like it? -
Now come on... we're all professional (allegedly) drivers here, and we all know how bed buggers drive. They shoulda showed up a week early!

Probably stopped for coffee along the way. . .

Movers are one big scam job.
My parents just moved recently after retiring and you would not believe all the shell games the moving company(s) played on them.
They contracted with one company (Allied Van Lines) that seemed very attentive to them until they were under contract and then the games began. They told them that they had one dedicated person they could contact should there be any issues but as it turned out they kept switching that person (3 times) saying that the prior person no longer was working for them and the new one clamed not to know anything about the agreement or delivery dates.
A full sized moving van came to their house to pickup there items but it was from a completely different company (United Van Lines) then they signed up with. The movers had not weighed the truck yet (they are supposed to provide a weight before and after loading) and they ran out of fuel before even getting out of the neighborhood so my dad ended up having to shuffle them back and forth to a local gas station 4 times so they could add 5 gallons of diesel at a time to the truck to get to the local TA and CAT scale on the other side of town.
They then had a 7 day window to deliver the goods to the new homestead. I drove them out west to their new place and a few days before we got there they called to tell them they are going to deliver a day earlier then the 7 day window and if we did not agree it would be 2 weeks before they could deliver again.
My parents had to call the property manager they were renting their new place from to get permission to be allowed in a day early. Then the moving company called back to tell them it would be an extra $690 dollars because they had to put there items on a smaller shuttle truck to deliver it. That was complete bull as the access to their new place was easier to get a truck into then their original house.
At that point I pulled over to look at their contract and we found that it was from yet a third company (not the one they talked to and not the one that picked it up) and impossible to read through as it had clauses for every possible thing you could think of (all in tier favor of course). We played phone tag for hours arguing over the shuttle truck fee, even putting them in touch with the property manager of the new place to tell them that full sized moving vans came in there all the time but that was a complicate waste of time and as we had to get their a day earlier to take delivery we finally had to give up and get moving again.
Finally when the shuttle truck arrived, it was from a completely different 4[SUP]th[/SUP] company (father and son outfit) who were in a big hurry to just get the stuff of and move on. Each item was supposed to be listed and tagged with a number but on about a quarter of the items the numbers had fallen off. The son started to give be crap about not checking in itmes quick enough and acting like it was my fault that the number labels were missing on so many items (probably from moving it between trucks). I wasnt putting up with that and finally told them I would keep them there all night checking stuff in if I needed to.
The whole thing was a complete nightmare, I told my parents to just rent a POD but they did not want to hassle with finding local labor to help load and unload it.
I wish you better luck with your move.HeWhoMustNotBeNamed Thanks this. -
I actually saw a moving van pull up on the scales, then a pickup pulled in front of him and put his front tires on the scale along with the truck. Seems to me they were padding the weight, so I went in and explained the situation to the manager. He gave me a copy of the weigh ticket. I also got pictures of the two trucks on the scale along with the truck info off the door. Called the company up and E-Mailed them all the stuff I had.... this was a major moving company.
If I ever use anybody I will be at the initial weigh and the loaded weighing of the truck... -
Call Scotty and have him beam your stuff to the new digs!
