    Hey all..

Just my process so far on heading to Schneider Bulk.

I studied on my own and went to the Indianapolis BMV and passed all my written tests including Hazmat and Tanker. After that I took my fingerprints and TSA sent a letter a few weeks later and said I was good to go to haul Hazmat.

I went to SAGE trucking school and put in my application and they sent me to get my medical tests done the same day. Just a note: SAGE trucking seems squared away. The ladies that work there are very helpful and answered all my questions. They said the first two weeks will be in the classroom and the last two weeks will be driving. SAGE has one student per truck during the driving process. I selected the option to drive 8 times, four hours per drive. Since they take students that already have their permits, they can focus more on driving.

I paid by credit card because the VA said they would not have the Award letter in time before I started class. After I paid, I realized I didn't have all the information I needed and actually really didn't have to pay out of my pocket. I could of started the class while waiting for the VA letter. I explained to SAGE about my mistake and they said once they get the Award letter from the VA, I would get my money put back on my credit card. Again, SAGE is very professional and very helpful!!

Anyway, the medical exam was a little hassle because I was a little high on my blood pressure when being tested by the machine. After 4 tries, the older nurse came in and tested my blood pressure the old fashioned was and said I was OK.. I thanked her, received my medical card and went straight to the BMV. I gave the BMV my medical card and the letter from TSA. The BMV said they didn't were not updated on the TSA fingerprint results, so they said to come back when I get my CDL and they will add all my endorsements.

Yesterday I went online and put in my application with Schneider Bulk. This morning I got a call back from a recruiter and she answered all my questions. She was very professional, answered everything, and if there was a question she didn't know the answer to, she asked me to hold and she found the answer. Very very professional. I was told I would start at 36 cents a mile. I can't remember how many miles she said I should get each week though. I know she said over 2000. I think she said over 2300 but like I said, I cant remember. She also said I would take all my training in Pittsburgh.

Anyway, I will keep updating as I go along..

Training in Coraopolis, PA is a real plus...! You'll start out near 2000 and begin growing from there... just remember it's all in the averages.

    Go bulk...!

Welcome aboard! I can't speak for the company drivers, but they are running the snot out of me :).

Don't be afraid to ask questions. Your DBL will take care of you. Just communicate!

The recruiter told me to call her back when I am two weeks into school. She did say my application looked good though.

Did you go to OTR or regional with Schneider? I wondering what kind of miles the regional guys are gettting, especially out of the Houston terminal.

Indbus apparently got on with Old Dominion. I've seen a couple of his posts.
