Yes, unfortunately I have to babysit this load. I left the Loves in Salisbury and relocated to the Pilot in Kannapolis NC where I have shower credits. This was the swap to have gotten me home. Oh well, did some laundry. Will get a nap and a shower later on. Will make the best of it. Nobodys fault really. Never thought meat could be too cold. I enjoy what I do enough to not let it bother me. Hopefully I can get some detention out of it. Enjoy your weekend. Deuces.

I am in Liberal, Ks. have to wait for tomorrow for load maybe I will get lucky and it will be ready by the early time. Not usually lucky unless you consider bad luck lucky.
George you can ask for "lost utilization pay" cause you better believe they are charging the shipper for this mix up.
Be safe out therePanhandle flash, jungHo and dennisroc Thank this. -
Question for you experienced lease operators. And before I ask it, I know this is a wide-open question with many possible right answers.
How long does it take before a new L/O starts to 'think' like one and stop thinking like a company driver?
There are many differences in how each of these drivers thinks about things, especially for true long-distance drivers that cross many state lines, and not making that transition quickly can be very expensive. Yes, there are some basics - don't spend the money you get like you're going to get the same check next week; don't take more time off than you can afford just because you can; don't turn down loads until you know what you're doing - but there are many fine tunings to the thought process transition and some rapid-fire decisions to be made and I wonder how long it takes a normal driver to get to that point. -
Patty has been having a nice time getting things for the place
she didn't want to bring her share of the cats up until all the moving is over
so last night she was befriending a fly
not sure if that is worse or better then the bobcat or notjaso36 and Panhandle flash Thank this. -
I think it's great that Patty is enjoying setting up your home. But even I'm not too sure about the fly

Has anyone delivered at the Super Value in Anniston, AL? What are my odds of getting unloaded early if I show up like 13 hours early? TransAm "cant" change the appointment because it's a meat load. 1st stop is 2100 tomorrow, 2nd stop is 0600 in Fairburn and final is 0900 in College Park. It's really screwing with how I want to run this load. I was hoping I might have a shot at taking matters into my own hands.
-
Super Value is a large DC so chances of getting unloaded would be slim from my experience
most of those big ones only unload certain times of day
but I know you know all dat -
I remembered that we had something on the blog about them, honeybadger, so I checked. Joey said they took his load early.

From joey7119 - call, may take load early -
Thanks Pete and HTQ! I will call them in the morning while I'm en route. If they won't take it early I plan to stop at the Petro in Gadsden, borrow some lube and bend over for the bill for a new set of drives. I really don't want to put brand new tires on in the middle of winter with snow on the ground and I would rather start paying them off now so I can have all my accounts settled up come tax time. This year's Christmas bonus is earmarked for settling up my maintenence account because everything has to be clear before I can lease on to another carrier. I intend on taking this truck to Landstar come tax time.
At that point I will have a couple weeks of truck payments in my pocket and fuel money to bobtail to the orientation center. Later next week I'm gonna get a three - axle alignment.
HometimeQueen and dennisroc Thank this. -
sounds like the honeymoon is over and real trucking has set in! Hang in there George!
