Pimples McGee, very mature, lol. Some people have a really strange attitude about GPS. It's a tool, a very useful one IMO. Just because someone is using one though it doesn't mean they're going to turn the wrong way one a one way road or take a road that is restricted.

If you like it use it, if you don't like it don't use it. But don't evaluate it's usefulness based on the fact that someone people have gotten in trouble by blindly following them. That's just plain dumb.

Did you know, back in the day, there was no competition between drivers, we all were one big happy family. No one was ever given bad directions, atlases were always correct, and no one, and I mean no one, ever got lost. It wasn't until these new fangled GPSs and not-so-smart phones did people started getting lost.

Why it wasn't until the advent of GPS navigation did they start putting up bridge height signs because before no one ever hit a low bridge. Ever.

its not that nobody got lost or hit bridges..(i have only gotten lost for the record...no hitting stuff) but the stupidty of following a gps into the ocean etc...THATS the problem....ending up somewhere and waiting til you hit the point of no return cuz ur GPS told you too..THATS the problem....

if your gps don't know where it's going. and it can't be trusted, maybe you need to buy another gps that DOES know where it;s going.

AND, if your dumb enough to not read the signs, and actually follow the direction to turn. then you probably shouldn't be driving in the first place.

a combination of both, if you have a gps that dont work.

but while your all on the subject of maps and gps's. here's one for all you atlas lovers.

951-471-3744. let us all know how this number works for you all in getting directions. and tell us how your weekend stay is going in los angeles.
YEP FOLKS. the atlas and the phone. would have worked out REALLY GOOD for my pick up yesterday.

I'M SOOOOOOOOOOOOO GLAD I R E L I E D ON MY GPS. cuz, without it. that's exactlhy where i would be sitting this weekend. got there with 30 minutes to spare and noooooooooooo help from the atlas or the phone number.

BTW. that phone number is a valid phone number. and the ONLY phone number anyone had to give. that apparently don't work. so knock yourself out. cuz all you'll get is that phone off the hook busy signal. 24/7/365

Lol this rand McNally in the truck routed my newbie co driver up a non-existent section of 70 in st.louis today. Woke up with him shaking my shoulder saying "we got a problem." Get up in the drivers seat and we were sitting at a hair pin turn, in a residential area of east St. Louis.

had to alley dock in an intersection and drive what felt like forever through a non truck safe area, doged a low bridge and eventually found 44 west straight through down town. Was REALLY cool seeing the arches up that close, and we had lots of time to sit and stare at them. Lol! GPS's suck! Though in all fairness this guy has no common sense.

if i remember right, i think i just made a delivery. and construction leaving the place, routed me on that road. i come in to deliver from the opposite way.

What's that expression? It is a poor craftsman who blames his tools. The GPS unit is just a tool.

Rarely use mine anymore... but sometimes at the end of the day, I'll be so worn out that I need something to bark at me and remind me what planet I'm on.
