If he's staying out that long it's HIS choice.
Also he may be running some bad areas..cheap freight will kill you in this business.
Sometimes you have to go where the money is to make a profit.
But as it's been said..YOU are the dispatcher.
Some people don't have the discipline to do this..20 years experience doesn't make you a good business owner.
Not trying to throw stones just stating facts as I know them.
My payment is just under 1100/week(all in) before fuel..I have NO problem making it plus enough to be happy.

I don't get it, it isn't that hard to understand how the "Choice" program fundamentally works, in fact its so simple any child (Are you smarter than a 5th grader?), can grasp the concept. Yet, I keep seeing people that can't figure it out...
-
It's not that it's hard to figure out it's that people need to be very disciplined and stick to the areas that are profitable. They get a good check and spend it all over the weekend. They refuse to run where the money is. They will only haul light freight. They wanna run from truck stop to truck stop because they can run faster. They can't manage money and always take advances. They can't trip plan properly. They think because they pick their loads they only run where they want too regardless of the rates. They spend money on foolish things such as chrome and lights and don't save. They don't put money away for Taxes or slow times. In closing they aren't running it as a Business but more like a Bigger tax free payday. Also they don't put in the extra work as in picking profitable loads and trip planning. It's not just driving it's running a Business AND driving...

There is always time to stop and smell the roses after the work is done!TennMan Thanks this. -
I run into a lot of IC's that dont know there Break Even Point. All they know is im making x amount of dollars on this load. If you dont keep good records of your business, your going to fail. You might get by the first year, eventually those cheap loads will catch up with you. I been on choice for 3yrs and im still learning and mixing freight lanes.

do sni allow power inverters on the lease trucks
-
Yes they do..I have a 1500 watt in mine, thinking of maybe going to a 2500 watt. Don't really need it, but you can never have too much power
-
Tell the potentials how to find the breakeven point so they can include it in business planning I have a formula I was using but its home on my desktop
