a lot of times, if a left hand turn looks like i can do a u turn and swing back going straight through the intersection. i'll do that.
there's been a few places, however. where you literally need to drive down 20 miles to make a left or right hand turn. drive 50 miles to make another turn. then back 20 miles. spending 24 hours of my 11 hour clock driving around in a circle. so i can get to my destination.
god bless commiefornia.tsavory Thanks this. -
Mine told me today to take sharp left on interstate

GPS and smart phones are a crutch.
The GPS users couldn't tell me the last off ramp exit number they took to a pickup or drop off.
How many smart phone users even know there (driver manager, dispatcher, or what ever you call it) phone number.
What will happen to you if your GPS has a power issue, or melt down. Or you drop your cell phone in that puddle outside your cab.
Just understand, the old guys who use payphones ( like any are around now). And a good trucker atlas or city map book. Have been doing this job longer than some of you have been alive.
I have all the old & new gadgets. I rely on what ever gets me paid.
This is a job, not a who's running with the Jones. So suck up your attitude and drive that 80k truck. Support yourself and family if you have them. And don't knock someone for doing a job in the same field your in.
Just my 2 cents. Screw it Ten bucks worth.crappiejunkie Thanks this. -
I'd go to the truck stop and get another one, it's not that complicated.
