You also have to consider the whole rest of the driveline... u-joints, clutch, etc. Odds are running a little over the limit you would never notice a problem... there are tons of drivers out there that bought trucks spec'd @ 450-475 horse with 1650 drivelines that uprate them to 550/1850 for example and will probably never see an issue. Then there are ones that blow stuff up the first day out. Also, you might not have the injectors/turbo/pistons (like you would see comparing a 435 horse ISX to a sig 600) to support the higher-horsepower flash and you'll just be pouring in too much fuel and can't burn it all up and it will just be a waste.
Also, if you want to go over the torque limits chances are you'd have to look elsewhere besides a dealer as well... many of them won't do anything that puts the dealer in a position where you could turn around and say "well you told me I could uprate it and then my transmission blew up and its your fault".

Hi Drivers, I'm thinking about signing on with the Choice program and just wondering how the freight is in and out of Buffalo, NY. I live just outside of Buffalo.
Thanks -
Appreciate the info on the "bad states to buy fuel".
Jar-Head Thanks this. -
My husband drove OTR for Schneider and wasn't making enough to justify being away from home 15 days out/2 home. So going OTR to "save", then turning around to get your own truck outside of Schneider sounds nice, but just isn't that easy. So I understand why people get a truck through the company and try to make it that way. I think either route you decide to go you need a very sound plan, or you will fail either way.

Load in the morning to IL .. -
I was told if I upped the torque from 1850 to near 2000 to 2100 it would increase my mpg as the engine would work less harder . But I see your point on not exceeding the ratings etc ..
Ill prob leave well enough alone -
Those are real good #s, sounds like everything is running good... I'd just keep running like you are now.
