So does that mean lease drivers have the right to take the company load say swap there load for there's because they can do that. They say lease get the good runs and company drivers get the ####ted runs is that true. What exactly do they expect you to learn in 7 to 11 days

I have an updated list of truck stops and/or restaurants with truck parking that are driver favorites. It is pretty long and would probably take up too much space on here. If you want a copy of it just send me a message and I will email it to you or if you are on Facebook let me know and I can get you to a copy there.

I'm not sure, but I bet there's a place you can store a document here. That way, someone who wants it won't have to start a Facebook page if they don't want. One of the Mods can probably chime in.HometimeQueen Thanks this.

Our experience was that TransAm has a pretty even mix of good runs and bad runs .....enough for everybody!
I think the most frustrating part for us was that it seemed like once you got stuck with a bad one it seemed like you were in that rut for a couple of weeks.....and then it would get good again. Once again I think that has to do partially with guaranteed home time and logistics.....if you ended up with a swap because the other driver couldn't make it for on time delivery and it knocks you out of your normal lanes that they run your truck in, then they have to work you back ....if that makes any sense. Most have a routine for their home time, the company tries to get you as close to home as possible, so they have to give you loads that put you back into position to take your hometime.
Lease drivers have the right to turn down a load or a swap, but they aren't given a list of available loads and told to take their choice.gntorres61 and passport220 Thank this. -
I am surprised you allow anyone in the houseHometimeQueen Thanks this.

Company drivers do good. They tell you that lease drivers do better because you pay for your mistakes as a lease and as company they pay for mistakes. If you have no experience would you buy a restaurant and expect to succeed? Why would you think it is any different in trucking? Cause its easy right? Well just don't read this thread but read a few and you will find out this industry is not for the faint of heart. There are many ways to do this industry but one thing is for sure it is not easy. 500 miles a day for a mega carrier solo is unrealistic or a perfect world where everything goes perfect everyday is unrealistic. There are many factors to why stuff goes wrong. Sometimes it is the company, sometimes the driver, sometimes the shipper or receiver and sometimes GOD just looks down on us and wants a good laugh. HTQ said it best not to look at your weekly check but to look at large chunks of time, a month, months and look at your average. We all have great weeks, good weeks, okay weeks, bad weeks and terrible weeks. Right now I have been averaging about 2,750 a week on full weeks that I run or about that. May not look great to someone with no experience but to those who have and know mega carriers that is good or very good. You have to have realistic expectations when getting into this business. Nothing is perfect and you do see the country but from the windshield as most of us do not have the time to sit around and sight see in the cities we go to. Some retired drivers from another job can stop for a day or two but most of us have bills to pay and you do not get paid if the wheels aren't turning. Not trying to be Debbie downer here but I have seen the questions and thought this might help with expectations

Thank you HTQ for the info in Waco. Have to let them know that is a no go. I will be pushing my 11 trying to deliver that load and do not like to get jammed up like that so no good for me. Hope you feel better and maybe you should be a little less grumpy with the King. LOL I can say that as I am very far away from you.
HometimeQueen and dennisroc Thank this. -

My TransAm notebooks have been retired so I have to go on memory ....but isn't there a small truck stop just down the street in Waco also? We always felt they were on the ball there too.
